It sucks to not feel appreciated/seen, especially after putting forth so much effort without any reason other than to be helpful or demonstrate love. If it's any help, I imagine that based on her history, she may not even know to say thank you. It would have to happen spontaneously (very unlikely) if it wasn't modeled for her. Or she might have to understand the entire thing to thank you for it with meaning.
