I'm very sorry to hear about your issues - if you can't drink water, have you tried OPS (oral rehydration solution)? It contains electrolytes, sugar, potassium and sodium your body needs to avoid dehydration.

If you're too suck to go to the pharmacy, you can make your own solution:

Hope you feel better soon!

Thank you! :) I tried sipping water really slowly last night and Gatorade and am starting to feel better this morning :) I appreciate you sharing and I will definitely have to print this out to look at!

Hi All,

I just wanted to write that I am severely sick with possible food poisoning. I ended up eating at a Taco Bell not too far and ended up having a bad fever, chills, vommiting. I have not been able to keep any water down as it seems it comes back up. I went to the hospital this morning and they gave me fluids. It's horrible and I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. I appreciate you keeping me in your thoughts for healing. This is by far the worst sickness I ever had in my life besides maybe COVID. I am scared.

It'll last a solid week and you might end up with terrible muscle ache if it was anything like mine.

Loads of people have had it so it's nothing to worry about.

Thank you! :) I'm starting to feel better this morning. It was a strange and scary experience. I remember getting COVID a couple years ago and it felt like it wasn't as bad as this.

Glad you're feeling better. I had food poisoning a few years ago. Nasty stuff.

It's amusing how food horror stories always seem to begin with Taco Bell too.

Great, I'm very happy to hear you're feeling better! The next step is eating something light - like crackers, oatmeal, clear soup or bananas. If you're feeling nauseous, ginger can help (you can mix ginger powder with water or tea).

Thank you so much! I've been eating some toast and it seems like it's been helping :) Ginger I heard is very good. I have some ginger supplements I might try taking. My temperature is about normal now and my stomach has been feeling a whole lot better. I really appreciate the suggestions and these are very very helpful! I went to a follow-up Doctor's appointment a short while ago and he said everything seems to be good :)

I avoid Taco Bell; stuff does not agree with me. No idea how people eat that when they travel, as I've seen them in truck stops.

Happy you're doing better Brian, I'd maybe avoid Taco Bell from now on.

Thank you, King Kat! I appreciate it. I was feeling really good earlier today but had kind of a setback tonight and for some reason my fever went up again and started having some stomach issues. I guess I'm not quite over it yet. I don't think I'm going to eat at Taco Bell probably ever again. I think I will have this memory every time I see it now. I remember hearing people talk about food poisoning before but never realized how bad it can be. I'm praying it all goes away soon. It's gotten my anxiety up really bad. I remember when I was younger I would get sick and I never had bad anxiety problems. I just kind of shrugged it off and felt bad but it seems like any sickness I get messes with my anxiety really bad. I don't know why.

Ohno! I'm so sorry to hear you got sick, Brian! But I'm glad to hear you're feeling better

Food poisoning and stomach bugs can absolutely wreck you. I hope you're over the worst of it. Rest and hydration are the most important things. Remember to let yourself rest, and make yourself hydrate, even after it seems like the bug has passed. It can take a few weeks to feel normal again. I hope it all goes away, both the sickness and the anxiety, very soon.

Thank you so much, Rhapsody! I greatly appreciate it :) My fever I think is about gone this morning but still have some residual issues but hoping today might be the last day :) I've been trying to drink some Gatorade and sips of water. I thought about taking a Turmeric supplement but think it might upset my stomach too much to try. I appreciate your encouragement so much!

Just as kind of an update but still been having a low grade fever and bad stomach issues. I am going to see my family Doctor tomorrow so I'm hoping maybe he can tell me if it's bacterial or viral. I have a fear if it's maybe E. Coli. I've been having a good bit of brain fog issues and just feeling like I have no energy. It's been worrying me alot but praying it goes away soon.

I think if it's food poisoning it can take a good week or so to clear

I'm not a doctor if course Brian so it's best to get it checked

I had something a couple of years back and you just think you're never gonna get better but you do and you will

I'll say a prayer for you too, Brian.

I really hope that you start feeling better soon.
