Yes indeed. Crime is high and there's a lot of rape, gang warfare etc but generally it's peaceful and most people can go about their daily tasks like in most countries. Most properties in more upmarket areas are well secured a la fortress standard. Some have high walls well locked and often with electric fencing. But there's more black on black crime than black on white, and the small city of Port Elizabeth has encountered many gang related murders in the mainly coloured community ately.

Yeah this seems to be a major factor. Wine growing for example. there is a culture and tradition behind wine growing and brewing beer. It was quite silly to force both these lucrative industries to be "black owned" when traditional African societies have no connection to the this type of business which is more artform > factory assemblyline.

But more importantly (as trevor Noah points out in his comedy) the ANC have appointed nepo-babies into positions of power over things like electrical power. I cannot believe how wanton rorting by Jacob Zuma on a level with the Duvaliers of Haiti is taking place on the ANCs watch and quite clearly nobody is saying anything as they don't want to lose their jobs.

I feel sorry for communities like the Indians and coloureds. they were second class citizens during apartheid and now second class citizens under the ANC. Indians in particular are highly vilified for the economic and academic success (despite the barriers in front of them). this sentiment was also echoed in Kenya and Uganda.

Guys! Guys! Hey, guys! I'm confused about something!
I hear Republicans talking aaaaaaaaall the time about how Democrats are the real racist party. They're the party of slavery and segregation!! They're the party of neo-Nazis and the Klan! (Just don't ask any actual Nazi or Klansman).

Yet, for some reason, now Republicans are trying to say Democrats have a pathological hatred for white people! Why's that? How come the apartheid crowd isn't more loved by the "party of Jim Crow"? I have been told by many confident, charismatic Republicans that Democrats think all black and brown people are inferior, so what's going on here exactly??? I legitimately need a conservative to explain this to me like I am an idiot, since I need to understand how conservatives explain this to themselves.

Why doesn't Noem join the deported Afghan women so she can see how women are treated in that Taliban country.

My guess is many of these politicians have developed a thick skin.

Well I think the cruelty is the point at this point, idk if any of you saw the sad video of like an 8 year old girl in handcuffs getting arrested for idk existing. Her little hands barely fit in the handcuffs and then the cop wanted her to get up into the police car with her hands bound behind and so she tried putting her foot up to get into the vehicle, but like with the cuffs there was no way that little girl would have been able to get up there by herself with her hands tied behind her back, but she was like 8 to 10 a young child, i just don't see any reason why they had to handcuff her, looked like an 8-10 year old girl like why do you need to handcuff an 8 to 10 years old girl? like what did that little girl in her winter jacket and kids ugg boots do to get detained like that. Idk it just kind of looked like me when I was 10, and it was a cute little girl they were arresting and so yeah I feel like that is messed up. But nah it was really messede up cause they detainted a 8-10 year old girl
