Why are people in the US government clinging to Trump?

I’m kind of fortunate in a way. I don’t feel ashamed of this country because I never considered myself an American. I’m an Earthling. Well, it depends on the day. It’s not my fault that I was born here. :shrug:

I mean, I don’t like my money being used for nefarious purposes, but there’s not much I can do about it, not that I have much money or anything.

I don’t really understand patriotism or love of one’s country. It all just seems so arbitrary and silly. People who live near a border love the land and people on this side but not the land and people a few feet away. Absurd.

I only feel pride or shame for my own personal actions, not for the legendary exploits of dead dudes or for American values that are more rooted in propaganda than in reality.

Oops, this was off-topic. It’s just something I think about a lot, probably because I live in a Christian nationalist small town from Hell.
