I didn't choose to be born on Earth, but where else could I possibly go? Who knows if or when they'll colonize Mars and even if they do they're not going to let me go with them, that's for sure. They'll only want young, healthy, disorder and and disability-free people on Mars. Although the right wingnut politicians will get to go too, even if they're over 90 and have smallpox or whatever. MMGA (Make Mars Great Again).

I hope humans never succeed in colonizing space because we've already screwed up our own planet.

Oh and I didnt choose to be born in the US either. But apparently the far left thinks that's somehow all my fualt.

Just think - you could have been born in Afghanistan instead. Or maybe Russia. You could have been Kurdish - nobody seems to leave them alone. You could have been born a Uyghur slave in China. The list goes on and on.....

And yes I'm being sarcastic here.

Judging by your username, I thought you were British.

I wish I was born in America. People in England have never heard of Stephen Foster before. Boring.

I have British and German on my dad's side. I was born under a British name in British Columbia, Canada. I've always preferred Germany over Britain. When I learned the origin of my last name, I made the hard decision to act and dress British for 30 years from 1986 until 2016. After having 7 breakdowns over those 30 years, I decided to be true to myself starting in the January of 2016. I did what I thought I had to do to be a part of my family for 30 long years. Not only to be part of my family, but also to protect myself from the world. Germany was still frowned upon by many British Columbians in the 80s, 90s and 2000s. I was doing what I thought I had to do to save my ass. I chose my username during that hard time, in 2004.

You shouldn't let where you come from define you. You are a complex being with lots of individual qualities and quirks and most of them have nothing to do with your national or ethnic background. I came from a pretty strong Nordic and German background, but my parents never really made a big deal about it. We're all just individuals at the end of the day.

I wish that someone would have told me that when I was 11. I would have saved myself 30 years of hardship.

I'm so glad you decided to be true to yourself, CockneyRebel  has it been easier at all since then?

It's been much easier. I haven't had a breakdown since the January of 2016.

It's been much easier. I haven't had a breakdown since the January of 2016.

I am so glad.

You are amazing. I would like to be more like this in 2026. I am going to try to channel this sense of personal truth.
