On the qabalistic tree of life, sometimes you will see zeros emanating from the number 1.

0 is a Number

Well, the zeros in this case symbolize 10, 100 - or they could also symbolize the spheres themselves which totally look like zeros being the O's that they are.

Also you will find that within the Tree there are triads of 3 3's looking like this

The top is the crown and is not part of the physical reality rather it *feeds* the rest.

This of course, has nothing to do with zeros, just as a side note since you brought up the Tree - well, that's what it basically looks like.

The numbers 1, 10, 100 are all symbolized by Hebrew letters - none of which btw represents a zero - as I mentioned before that zero is the state of none creation - the state of chaos prior.

Zero has no power on its own. Zero is nothing by itself. It is, if anything - mathematically an integar. That is just a holding space between negatives and positives. Division, multiplication by zero result in zero. Addition or subtraction by zero results in no change. The only place where a zero will have impact is by holding spaces in numbers over and below 9. Gemtria - the literal building blocks of Creation have no need for zero as each number is represented by different letter combinations. It's only in recent times with modern mathematics that zero was found to be necessary. In ancient worlds - this was never an issue as counting was done from 1 and each group 10,100,1000 had their own symbols.

I don't think of zero as chaos. Zero is the void - it is more like nirvana, the place where no wind blows.

I don't understand why some people are so eager to get to nothingness, like it is some kind of state that is desirable, to not be, to not exist. There have been times when I questioned my own existence. But if you are reading this post, then I guess I do exist.

Well, there are different takes on this. Various religions believe that the dissolution of the ego, or the extinction of Maya (illusion) are good - the thinking is that these things cause strife and suffering. And even when someone is enlightened or transcends the ego, they are still alive, still need to eat, sleep, etc. So the nothingness that is talked about is seen as bliss or unity with the universe, not being completely annihilated.

Also, on a larger theoretical level, people talk about the wheel of karma and reincarnation. This is seen as being attached to the imperfect universe, but it is believed possible to spiritually develop, and break free of this chaotic world to a better one - sometimes described as the void.

Shockingly enough, God can only be approximated by this technique. On the other hand, 1 generates the integers, under addition. And, as someone once said, "God created the integers. The rest is the work of man." Coincidence?

Additionally, -1 also generates the integers. What would God's opposite be called?
