spokane you dont get what i am saying... adult threads are showing up in the view new posts feature... they do not need to show up for all of is...

spokane... go in the view new posts since last visit, thats where they are showing up... its a context error...

Oh I see what you are saying. When you posted that screenshot, I thought you were showing all the topics you find inappropriate so it confused me into thinking what's wrong with Occupations and listening to repeat -1?

nope... that was the top of the "whats new" list... just 2 of those topics were crap,.

I'm personally more worried about things showing up in RSS feeds.

It would be nice if you could choose a
- Full RSS feed or
- Filtered RSS feed.

You could hide the full RSS link so that kids/prudes could only copy/paste the filtered version.

BTW: I'm using the word Prude because I don't have another one - In this context it just means person who doesn't like rude stuff, rather than being derogatory.

Strapples - I know you're protecting kids, which is great. They need a certain level of protecting. Funnily enough, you'd be surprised what my eldest (7) seems to pick up from school.

Filtered RSS would be nice too!! ! but we also need to filter the main list... hopefully phpBB3 will offer this facility!

I think the topics in the adult board shouldn't show up in 'view lasts posts' and 'view new posts.' They don't show up on the front page under new topics so it should be the same when viewing new posts and posts since last visit.

Strapples, I'm sure Alex knows about the problem. This isn't something you can really get a sense of unless you've worked in the software biz, but doing changes (even seemingly innocent ones) to sites that are already being used by a lot of people every day can take a pretty long time. You have to make sure everything will work right and there won't be any adverse effects, all the while dealing with the other day-to-day stuff in your life/business. If he fixed it within a week of the initial report I would consider that pretty fast. :)

I wish there was a work status thread here so we can know what alex is working on and when an estimated finish time is

WP is a hobby for Alex, he's got a lot of other stuff to do.

My systems at work have tons of problems which I know about. It's frustrating when people keep reporting problems that I already know about but I haven't time to fix them. I'm currently working on 55 projects (and posting on WP when I should be doing them sometimes :oops: )

It's a lot of work so I don't think we can push him too much.

Hey, G, do you work at my college?

The system here is such a patchwork, I think the techs keep it going on coffee fumes and judiciously applied chewing gum. They keeping the system up is a miracle in itself.

And get this--it's Windows 2000. HAHAHAHAHA.

I shouldn't laugh. It's still better than Vista.

There was a huge announcement last week about one of Australia's top four banks upgrading their technology.

They upgraded their clients from Windows NT to Windows XP. :D

Why don't you write up a list on a grid, so Alex can keep up with your suggestions? remember to leave a column so he can put a check mark or an x when he finishes something and then another column so you can check up on him to see if he did it correctly?

I am sure he will appreciate the input.
