That spelling was a bomb in a bull.

It be nice to see who is a mod i think there could be 30 secret mods for all we know

Is it really necessary to know all of the active mods? Issues can be brought to the attention of all mods in the way that lau already described.

I guess my problem is that I can't think of a positive motivation for having a list of every last moderator, when there are ways to reach the mods if necessary.

I remember being really curious about this before, but it's really not such a big deal guys. Basically the mods who are listed in the "MODERATOR ATTENTION" thread are the ones you can approach about problems. Those are the active mods. The rest may be considered reserves. They are extremely helpful in the case of spam attacks and may do other routine clean up but they very rarely interfere with any behavior issue.

I imagine that part of the desire to know who they are is similar to a dislike of unmarked police cars, but I'd guess that very little (if anything) posted here goes unseen by at least one moderator, so you're already being watched.

I addressed in the Moderator Attention about someone's blog who talks about other members behind their backs saying bad things and lot of people are upset by it but it seems like none of the mods have done nothing about it?

There was never a response to my post so I dunno. I didn't think the mods were going to do anything about it anyway due to it being outside of WP but it's from a member on here who does the blog and I was told to report it.

So by having a list....you could constantly message every mod listed until one of them responded in a way that you found to be appropriate?

Like playing mummy and daddy off each other. It has been attempted.
