This relates to the uncertainty principle where you don't know if the cat is dead or not.

The point is that each of us constructs reality as we perceive it and since reality is reasonably uniform over a limited area humans more or less construct individual universes that agree with each other. When different people see different things their universes vary and there are problems that cause disagreements, sometimes violent. Religion is a problem here as are things like ghosts and flying saucers.
