Not yet at least, although Christianity was the first one picked even before I voted. Seems strange how Islam is faring with how people defend it here.

i don't defend islam. i defend innocent people against what's basically out and out racism against muslims on this board. the assumption that muslims are always the bad guys and are always terrorists. like the way ragtime handled my initial comment in the maimed thread and then my response when i presented sources. he simply dismissed it as liberal lies because in his mind, there is no such thing as an innocent muslim...especially not an innocent palestinian. and that's pre-judgement based on race and religion.

I choose Other - I don't think I'd want to pick Satanism. After all, Satan is an established figure in both Christian and Islamic theology, in which he has a defined role - why would I want to sign up with the losing side?

So what's wrong with Sikhs, anyway?

Should have picked other, but basically:

Sikhism has these:

A: God is the Creator.
B: God is the Universe.
The Creator is the Universe?

Perhaps in the philosophy that falls out of Darwinism everything creates itself, but I view God as eternal and self-existent Creator who is not a component of the Creation. Creation is dependent on Him, and thus cannot be Him.

it would make the most sense if we said God is the earth like Pagans do
we depend on him/her-and it is him/her

I'd either say no to Islam or Christianity

Not at all. I am neither a Muslim, nor a Wiccan, nor a Santerian. I find those beliefs to be a bit strange (as are many other religions). But I think they should be able to believe what they want as long as they leave me in peace, and I will defend them against false witnesses. As Thomas Jefferson said, "Let every man speak freely without fear, maintain the principles that he believes, worship according to his own faith, either one God, three Gods, no God, or twenty Gods; and let government protect him in so doing "

I like Star Trek, therefore it is real? I believe some short people may have pointy ears, but it isn't because I like them or not. I don't want this to be a debate thread, but it just nagged me to hear that.

And I thought it was all real :(

I am a trekkie, although not that of a die hard fan, I don't believe in aliens because of it, Im rather agnostic about the subject. Do I believe in star trek humanism? although it appeals to me a lot, Im not actually a full believer or follower of secular humanism, I could say Im quite realistic or try to be, and try not to follow any philosophy in a dogmatic way.

Anyway, it's kinda hard to choose, just one religion NOT to choose when you would not pick most of them, if this is about the religion you would never pick up or dislike most, it depends on the denomination of such religion, wether they are Judaism, Islam or Christianity, I definitely would never pick any fundamentalism religion, wether it is Fundamentalist Christianity, Fundamentalist Islam or Fundamentalist Judaism or any other similar.

I picked theism which rules out all mystic religions, as they all fall under theism.

I voted on the basis of how oppressed I would be in modern times as a woman (Christianity and Judaism have gotten better overall about women in recent years, while Islam has gotten worse).

However, I don't think I could abide by Mormonism.

Mormons gave up on polygamy over a century ago, and now are very insistent on only traditional monogamous marriage. Their women are no more oppressed than the women in mainline Catholic and Protestant sects of Christianity.

I believe my religion is lepricrinism. :dwarf:

I'm a lepricrinist.

Yes it isn't much of a religion at the moment, so I'll need to improve it some how.
The best thing for me to do is get a bit of a cult thing happening, also I will need to write up some sort of bible.

Theism. It's a lame copout IMO. Either do the religion properly, or just don't even bother.

I'll submit a vote but I'm afraid to tell you, you might say that there's something wrong with my vote. :(

I am undecided on this. If it were on there, I would have chosen Scientology, but I kinda figured there was no need to put it on the poll, since it is assumed that everyone would pick that if it were.

I think it would be very hard to be a Sikh. Men never shave or cut their hair (which is why they wear turbans). And because Sikkhism elevates the profession of soldier, they are all supposed to carry ceremonial daggers. As someone who is a frequent flyer, I can't imagine going through airport security wearing a turban and carrying a knife. Sure, some sikkhs carry wood or cardboard ceremonial daggers, but even that is enough to send some of the TSA workers into a frenzy.

That's what happens when you don't read carefully.
