Well Larree-if ya like living under Mexican rule, than LA is the place for you :D .

My extended family is multi-ethnic, and that is some seriously racist mentality in your head.

I didnt mean to personally insult you Larree nor am I trying to bash Mexicanos. But the thing is, a lot of the Mexicanos in LA really seem to be full of aggressive racism towards ANYONE who isnt Latino-EVEN Blacks!

yes but i've also seen a lot of blacks aggressively racist against white people too. it happens when you get a majority minority...and sometimes not even needing that.

i dunno, i think the best way to sum it up was when i tried to check out a party going on in my apartment here. was hanging out with a bunch of the guys (all mexican/latino) and they were cool but also they reminded me "what are you doing here, your people normally aren't out here". i just laughed at it and said "i'm more like you guys than the white people out here". they had a nice laugh over that too. *shrugs* just gotta roll with it, don't be afraid of anyone, and don't get on a high horse if someone else comes off as racist.

as far as psmaster: i got called all kinds of names in school and it was a mostly white school. wasn't race-oriented but it was a lot of very nasty names. and maybe do you think they were attacking you because they felt insecure and wanted to bring you down because they feel like there's so many white people attacking them?

not saying they're justified in all the things they said to you...just trying to possibly get some perspective on it.

and i don't think it has anything to do with the nationalistic makeup of the area as to why it's dirty and so much crap. it's more due to how much poverty and how poor the education is for so many people out here.

well that and if you're living in LA, +60% of your income goes to taxes. and unless you're a rich bleeding heart, this place milks you pretty dry...well that and how overpriced housing is.

and gas gets 50 extra cents added to the price because the bleeding hearts have to pay for their sins out here. probably was a great idea when that 50 cents was on only $1.50/gal gas but as with everything else, the shortsightedness of the bleeding hearts out here didn't consider that if there is actually a problem coming up with gas that the price would naturally go up and limit who can fill up.

LA is a place for the shortsighted, racists (there's a lot of racism out here hidden under PC semantics), and shallow. and of course, the lovers of big brother....gotta love the signs up everywhere with big brother reminding you to use blue tooth headsets because it's now the law.

Re: "the law"

I am happy as all hell with the new cellphone law. Drivers on cellphones are almost worse than drunk drivers!

not getting into this again...i made a thread about this when it was being enacted earlier this month. i'll just leave it at: i'm not pleased by this.

though i do find it hilarious that most people who want to follow the law now just put their phone on speaker phone and hold it about a foot away from their face (saw this occurring right outside the burbank courthouse too!!).

Well, for every time I almost got rear-ended or run over by some A$$hole on a cellphone, I am more than happy with the new law! I LOVE it!

the cellphone is more of a symptom. LA is dog eat dog, no sense of loyalty or honor. that includes driving. rude, selfish..people don't even comprehend how to get in behind someone rather than speeding up to go in front and risk accident with not only the person they're cutting off but also the potential for stopped traffic ahead.

it's all the same, LA never looks ahead...whether it's just for defensive driving on the road or with policies enacted. LA never looks ahead and just wantonly goes after something because it makes them feel better.

and yes, i am getting out of LA and i can't be happier about it....other than giving up the readily available supply of weed and my Rx. i'll miss that.

Drivers in Florida are way worse. Chicago drivers are pretty bad, too. You will probably not be happy anywhere you go, unless you are moving to a little house on the prairie somewhere!

lived in florida for two years...sorry, LA is way worse. florida has a bunch of old people who slow down the flow and crazy islander drivers who don't get the laws but they're in a much lower density than out here.

can't comment on chicago, though.

my sights are set on dallas. not a fan of being in the bible belt but the driving is slightly better (different kind of bad) and it's where i'm going to school.

by the way, have you ever seen that billboard in the original post?

If you look at the billboard closely a guy named Jesus is on the billboard claiming LA for MX.

And I thought that SF was the only californian city with no middle class! I firmly believe that one of the MAJOR problems with LA, and in particular why violence so endemic and hard to eliminate, is due to entrenchment of Organized Crime. Latin America, with the Exception of Chile, is riddled with Organized Crime. I mean, Mexico has one of the highest murder rates in the world. Organized Crime extends all the way down to street gangs and prison gangs and all the way up to form a *Shadow Goverment*. Violence is really all about power and the competiton for it. Thats why things get violence when The BiG Bosses run the show-thats how they maintain their power.
