No one does. But I have to agree with Slow Mutant on the 'stewardship' question. The story of Noah suggest that there is in fact a need for preservation of non-human species, even those not exploited commercially - it was two of each animal, but more of the useful species. A metaphor, to be sure, but one that may be based on a valid idea.
I don't know know many children that honor their parents by trashing the house they were left, yet para-Christian capitalists seem to think that is a good idea.
