I didn't expand on it but to further explain but like I sad I Have a time and place notion I find government management of "foul language" absurd buththatbeign sadi wjhielswear hate when people swear for the sake of swearing, As for childern in the case of boys from 13 on all I can say is boys will be boys as long as my son only swore around his freinds I coud care less he's a boy, young boys by their nature are a little vulgar it's like some wierd phase. As long as they know you normally don't swear or at least till you're an Adult and to have at minimum degree of decency atleast it's no big deal for me.

Mind you I'm speaking from my own persional experience as a young kid. I Have no idea how it was as a kid for any fo female members of WP.

People only seem to get offended by swearing because they like to be offended. To others, they don't mean much, and life goes on. So why get offended? Is someone obstructing your pursuit of happiness by saying f**k? Others tend to get offended for someone else in the room who gets offended by these things to look good to them. The fact of the matter is that this restraint on a good cluster of words in our language is an oppression, and people keeping them in this status are absolute f*****g twats.

it reminds me of the older days back when you could be considered born a criminal if you didn't blush at the appropriate moments.

same idea too. if you swear, you're inarticulate and obviously not worthy of proper society....implying genetically flawed and ergo not an equal part of society.

f**k that.


and swearing in front of kids does nothing wrong other than pisses off parents who don't realize they have better things to worry about with their kids. and again...no real negative effects...just a bunch of whiny b*****s.

I do agree. I do dislike it greatly, however, when people use them to the extent of inarticulateness. Ruins their actual effect, sounds slovenly.

Swear words are most effective when they're used in moderation. That's not to do with being liberal or conservative, it's a fact. I have no problem with people swearing, since all cuss words are, essentially, just words. Why should the 'S-word' be any stronger than 'poo' or 'faeces?' It's only society that dictates that some words describing a particular concept are taboo, while others are not.

I don't like it when people pepper every single sentence with more swear words than hairs on their head, not because it offends me, but because they detract from what the person's actually trying to say. Sure, say f*** once in a sentence to show that you're angry, but going overboard on the swear words is ridiculous. But then again, it's not something I'd lose sleep over.

As for swearing in front of children, well, the jury's out on that one. It would be better to tell your child that certain people, such as Mrs Prim, don't like it when you use that word beginning with f in front of her. That way, they'd realise from a young age that some words are only socially acceptable in some contexts. I'd imagine it would be embarrassing if your child shouted out 'f***' in the middle of a christening, for example.

Yeah. Y'know, when "f**k" replaces "very" and "really" for example, when "motherf***ers" replaces "people", etc.

Even though South Park is designed to be a social commentary, many socially conservative people take offense to the language used on the show (even though co-creator Matt Stone is a Republican himself).

I don't see why anyone gives a s**t what people really think and believe, not once in my life have I wondered what sort watch a crappy show like South Park (it has its moments I just don't find a lot of it funny-that Scientology one was hilarious! I really dislike them)

He certainly is clever for swearing so much ... not. Swearing does not a comic genius make.

My 4yo and I were waiting for the bus yesterday when this jogger came by. I suppose he was a conservative, because when he passed the house across the road from use, which had Obama signs in the yard, he started yelling "F**k Obama! F**k Obama!" REALLY loud.

Conversation with daughter followed:

Daughter: Mommy, what does f**k mean?
Me: For unlawful carnal knowledge. That means sex that will get you put in jail.
Daughter: You mean he wants to do something that would get him put in jail?
Me: Sounds like it.
Daughter: That man is very stupid.
Me: I think so, too. You don't want to use a stupid word like that, do you?
Daughter: No. I'm a smart girl.

Now if I could just get her not to follow her Dad's example on "d**n it" as easily...

the clever part is in the analysis and satire of what's viewed as taboo words even today. that video is from roughly 30 years ago. shows how much we've progressed in our thought process. at least he's not getting locked up anymore like lenny used to.

fun fact of the day: a friend at work's g/f works at the mortuary that cremated george carlin's body. sadly, she didn't get there before the work was done and so she didn't get to take any pictures or anything. shame cause george would've wanted a couple pictures taken, darn it!!
