The thing is that some aspects regarding archeological and historical research refering to ancient history are debatable.

I'd imagine you'd want to look to astronomy for a possible answer, since most every ancient culture bases their calenders and scheduled religious practices off of astronomical events. The twelve-month system comes from there being 12 full lunar cycles in a year. A lunar cycle's approximately 28 days, 28's only divisible by 2, 4, 7, or 14 (excluding 1 and 28 ), 14's hardly better than 28, so bam, 7 days.

Whoops, now I need to figure out where I got 28 days stuck in my head (worked at a planetarium for 3 years, too many damned random intrinsic values).

Edit: I was probably thinking about the sidereal or anomalistic month.

Though possible, not likely, I spent a lot of time during high school randomly researching ancient civilizations with astronomical-based calenders, mostly due to the large number of shows at the planetarium on the subject.

And notice the edit on the previous post on the different types of lunar cycles (while not precisely 28 days, some average out to it).

There are several brilliant people in literature that should be considered. Dr. Fu Manchu, Dr. Wonmug, Dr.Who, Dr. Huer, and that fabulous fictional character Dr.Einstein who was played brilliantly by an obscure German patent officer .

Ah, and I realized the source of the number 28 stuck in my head, though not astronomical, the good ol' menstrual cycle. I have a feeling that would be well imprinted into the male mind.

Also, Event Horizon, by and far my favorite Paul Anderson movie (a bit stupid, but awesome visuals).

Nothing too major, some the dialog was a bit campy (really inevitable with most any horror movie), but otherwise the movie as a whole was awesome (Sean Pertwee's reaction to finding the bomb with 3 or so seconds left, easily my favorite facial/emotional reaction in a movie).

Tried to find the bomb scene, but couldn't locate it. I think Smith's reaction was appropriate, as well as Sean's performance well done.
