According to several people on the Thundercats website many of their kids that are on the autistic spectrum love the Thundercats shows as they are 20min long and they like the characters.

I am not looking for something only for entertainment or for a distractions only.
It has to be educational in developmental ways.

thomas the tank engine does have an educational component- social stories...

Yes I know, I like Thomas the tank engine.
My child's mother has a few of them, when she moved she took them with her,
now she has all kinds of good VHS children's shows but stopped using them along with the player.
she now has cable and a DVD player.
all the children loved those VHS childrens shows.
I cant (and wont bother to try) asking her for them, such a waste...

Funnily enough all stories used in Thundercats had to be edited by a child psychologist as they had to be educational.

You could try the Tweenies its a little similar to the Teletubbies.
