Has it occurred to 9/11 conspiracy theorists that their wild, fantastic stories of "what really happened" do not follow from any alleged discrepancies in the "official story?" The so-called "official story" may well be inaccurate at points without necessitating that the attacks were an inside job.

The NSA (National Security Agency) was a secret society for decades where people had heard of it but no one could prove it existed as it didn't show up on any budgets and talking about it was treason. So enough information had been leaked for people to know its name and a general idea of what it did but without verifiable evidence anyone claiming to know about it or that it existed was labeled a crackpot conspiracy theorist.

They were derided and made fun of and viciously verbally attacked for years.

Then the NSA's existence was officially revealed and now their actions are debated in congress and the press.

The existence of the NSA has been known for far longer than most people realize, I believe they were first officially acknowledged in 1954, possibly 1956, after having been created in 1952. David Khan described the agency in detail in his 1967 work The Codebreakers, still the best book out there on cryptography, IMHO. They are quite secretive however, the joke used to be that NSA stood for No Such Agency.

It was an inside job all right. The terrorists had a few friends inside the United States. They must have, considering how they managed to attack America with it's own planes.

I'm still unsure where I stand regarding 9/11. All I know is that its the NWO's fault.

I read that on the morning after (not THAT sort of morning after), while nobody else in America was flying anywhere, a private plane courtesy of Bush was flying around the States picking up bin Laden's relatives and flying them home. Without questioning them!

Because Osama bin Laden was the black sheep of his family, more or less separated from them, and it would not be fair to leave them in type of danger they'd be in from whack jobs who didn't realize there was a rift between bin Laden and the rest of his family.

Huzzah, someone besides me has read 'the Codebreakers'...;) they did mention 'no such agency' in there...;)

Actually, I just finished a book called 'Debunking 9/11', where they systematically addressed most of these issues, and dealt with them through experts, physics, and interviews. Sorry, but it looks like Al-cicaida did it..;)

Now, 2 rules of conspiracy

1) All the facts that 'support' your theory are proof of the existence of a conspiracy
2) All the facts that 'refute' your theory are proof of the workings of a consiparacy....;)

Now that we've got that out of the way, maybe we should have a prize for the most outrageous 9/11 theory. I think I have it.

Osama Bin Laden is actually Jewish, and works for the Mossad.

In the 1990s, the Americans were finally joining the rest of the world in looking for a 2-state solution. This further isolated Israel, who felt we needed to be more 'involved' in the Middle East.
The Israelis need the US to be totally isolated and hated by the rest of the Muslim world, much like...any guesses? Beuler?...;)

Since there's no 'there' to actually hit back at (cruise missles to the contrary), they knew the US would want to strike back...somewhere, anywhere. Iran was too big, so why not nudge them towards Iraq? That way, they're even more in the Israeli camp, and can be further controlled.

Bush was friends with the Saudis, but only the family Saudi...the rest of the country can't stand us.

Only a professional spy operation could smuggle in the dozens of tons of thermite, high explosives, and tannis root needed to break down the building.

Ok, I'm starting to snigger here...;) Honestly, never ascribe to conspiracy that which can be explained by stupidity.

Wait this just confuses me...is there a professional spy shortage at the CIA?

Well, they couldn't even manage for almost 50 years to knock off a two-bit dictator in a banana republic just south of Florida's shores, so I would have to say yes.

Of course you're assuming they were actually trying instead of just saying they were trying.
