Supporting Bush and being into civil rights issues? Wow. That's a good one. I don't have my book with me now, but I can still remember a couple good quotes. "Thus, the Party rejects and villifies every principle for which the Socialist movement originally stood, and it chooses to do this in the name of Socialism." Also, in discussion of Doublethink (reality control) it is noted that it is necessary to "simultaneously believe that democracy is impossible, and that the Party is the guardian of democracy." Both paraphrases, but I'm pretty sure that neither of them is off by more than a word or two. Come on, I know Clinton wasn't exactly the biggest champion of civil rights with his warrantless wiretaps and such, but the current administration has taken it to a whole new level.

Heil W!

I'm not super obsessed, but I agree on the hating Bush part. I despise that man, and all his cronies.

Same here. I try to keep up with all important political developments, both national and international. It's not at all like an obsession though. If I were to be sealed off from the outside world with no access to the media for a few weeks, I wouldn't go crazy or anything (instead, I would make up for a lot of lost video gaming time 8)).

I wouldn't really call myself a Bush-hater... although if I were an American resident, I would probably have voted for Gore instead of Bush at the past elections. I have a certain distrust of all authorities in general, which of course includes Bush and his companions, but it's not like I hate Bush particularly.

I was going to say that "obsessed" was to strong of a word, but then I realized that I listen to National Public Radio as much as possible, and read the paper everyday, and sometimes watch political news shows.

Yea, I'm pretty obsessed.
