Well, you're speculating about the thoughts and feelings of others. I was hoping to hear from the others. While what you say might be true, I'm guessing that they probably don't feel that it is.
You're being overly charitable.

Why don't we have more cynicism here?
Reminds me of that exchange in a Dilbert episode about substituting experience with cynicism....
Catbert: Asok has no experience....
Asok: I am a blank slate.
Catbert:...but what he doesn't realise is that cynicism is almost as good.
Asok: It is?
Catbert: Yes. Just start believing the worst about people, and you'll usually be right.
Asok: I feel wiser already.
Well, you might be right, but I feel there's an abundance of spin-doctoring towards cynicism out there. I try to build some momentum the other way, show people that it is safe to be positive. Also, it's a question that is designed to induce some introspection in some people. I feel that most people spend far too much time talking about others, and not nearly enough thinking about and talking about themselves, which does not diminish the sincerity of the question. I do not understand the mind that continues to indulge in that which it finds distasteful. From day one, many of those who have expressed support for my efforts have expressed concern that my words fall on deaf ears. They're absolutly right, they do fall on deaf ears, but they also fall on the ears of those who can hear.
Overly charitable? Not possible. Unlike cynicism, charity doesn't cost me a thing, and the returns are considerable.
