Defined as bizarre only because when you didn't help me reason as an equal peer but instead attacked my hope in life I spoke back at you and you got annoyed because it was quite effective. To the likes of you I'm to inferior to speak and because of my disabilities will never be as good as you and should be looked down upon. The likes of you however should advocate for myself in my place because I must be qualified by your standards. Being proud of your autism means denouncing those with disabilities with it because their communication style is not pure enough.

If you want a debate do so with respect and take the humble time to go line by line helping me understand how you think and what you don't understand of what I say which some of you call gibberish. You wanted to attack my progress and accomplishments but just consider it bizarre when I stand up to you. I do not shy away from types like you instead I study them and in a way digest them for use in my life's garden for fruit.

To proud to realize the downfall to a rigidity of a peer pressured perspective of nothing is wrong and when it is it must be something else. There is not basis in that for constructiveness outside of that perspective. I know my limitations, I know my strength and I sure as hell believe more in myself then you would like to offer belief in me in my own life for my own choices, progress and hopes simply because I must be to imperfect in grammar as an example to have such audacity.

Have yourself to the door!

Ci

My cardiologist thanks you for your advice on the medicinal advantages of meditation.

I have resolved to ignore you but will break this resolution once.

Art Sung, rather than being nice to you, gives the appearance of trying to manipulate you as an "easy mark". Every body else pays you enough respect to try to reason with you, then become annoyed with you and has a go at you and then give up for the good of their physical and mental health!

Art Sung encorages you in your posts, which to be blunt are becoming increasingly bizarre.

This provides further fuel to our concern that he may have less than honest intentions on this site.

I wish you no ill will as a person even though I find you remarkably irritating.

I will not respond further on this matter and wish you a good day.

ProudAspie,

I do not think Ci is an easy mark.

I am not going to post anymore. I do not wish people to now be hurt in the crossfire. You have made unfair comments!

Ci, I wish you the very best this life has to give!

Just a friendly reminder, in case any of us are under the assumption that Autism only represents those of perfect grammar and spelling. Any person with Autism has a right to come here and express their opinions, but no Autistic person should be attacked because of their inherent disabilities, whatever they maybe, particularly when they are identified by the individual. That is a personal attack that I understand is not welcome on this website.

Neither would disability be an excuse to personally attack someone else, when they are notified that what is being done is a personal attack, in case they don't understand.

Percentages here for clarity, of some that might be represented on this site, if they care to come here for support:

Quote:
Asperger's syndrome is one of the disorders on the autistic spectrum - a milder form of the condition that afflicted Raymond Babbitt, the character played by Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man. In the taxonomy of autism, those with Asperger's syndrome have average - or even very high - IQs, while 70 percent of those with other autistic disorders suffer from mild to severe mental retardation.
.

http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/9.12/aspergers_pr.html

The 70 percent exist; if they choose to come here and participate, we shouldn't belittle their disabilities. They really shouldn't have to identify their disability or IQ either, in hopes they won't be ostracized if they don't meet an individual's perceived intelligence requirements for people visiting this site that have Autism Spectrum Disorders.

This seems to be the activity the new member does not support, neither do I; if I am part of a conversation that includes it, I have no problem in pointing it out as an activity that is not acceptable.

I wish I shared your charitable disposition as it does you credit.

Unfortunately, life has taught me to be wary of individuals displaying some of the behaviors manifest by the new member

We need to be aware othat one of our traits is niavety and therefore we need to be extra vigilant in order to avoid manipulation and exploitation.

Therefore, robust examination of individuals who claim expertise and academic credentials may be a reasonable adaption of our condition.

I agree that everybody should be free to post but we also need to be careful of behaviors that raise suspiscion.

I've worked around thousands of people in my lifetime. And was somewhat naive for a part of that time, but after observing thousands, I've learned to detect a fair nuance of good vs. bad intention. The best of intentions are when people protect those that are less advantaged and the worst of intentions are those when people take advantage of those that are disadvantaged. Often with Autism it is a misunderstanding of intentions.

Art Sung came to another thread I was on, expressing that Autistic people can join together with one voice. My opinion back to him was it was no more likely than any other group in the "human spectrum". And suggested he might see evidence of that as he spends a bit more time here. Apparently, he has already found evidence of it, at least here.

If you take time to look at his posts it is evident that he is hiding very little of himself from others, and speaks as someone might speak that is heavily involved in Eastern religious practices, as he states he is in some of his other posts.

Many of us are blunt, but part of the practice of his communication seems to be one as gracious. I saw his style as unusual here, but seeing his interest in Eastern religious practices, I see it as a way of life for him that others like him share.

Our communication among each other is here for anyone else in the world that cares to see that while we may have differences, the way we treat each other is not greatly different at times, than the way any of the rest of the general population might treat us.

It could easily be naivety for some of us to assume that we all should have the same skills as others. But when it is pointed out by some of us, that we have a disability and can't change those skills, the least we might do is either ignore what we don't understand or sincerely attempt to gain an understanding of what we don't understand by a disabled individual's communication efforts.

Someone somewhere is probably shaking their head in disbelief that we could do that to each other since so many of us complain about others doing that to us. Art Sung, saw it and left.

There is no rule here that states we have to make any special attempt to support others on a personal level, but I can't see it as constructive to bring down those that may not have the same advantages that some of the rest of us have down.

Also strictly on an objective basis, naivety in Autism as shown in research works both ways, while some take advantage of our inability to see through manipulation, at times we see bad intention that is not there among others.

I took what I thought was an objective stand on Autism Speaks in another thread; I guess that must be very unusual here, receiving a comment several times that I must work for them, because of my perseverance in attempting to present objective information about the organization. That is understandable too though, it is part of Autism also, to misjudge intent that is often not there.

I appreciate the compliment on the charitable disposition; nice of you and Gallowgas to offer that response, in light of what I hope is constructive comments here, that we may not all agree on.

Exactly, this place is already vulnerable and preyed on by scammers, so I wouldn't rule out astroturfers trying to spread propaganda on here either.

Including not trusting propagandist who try to destroy equal opportunity pursuits that are credible, in the media and confirmed founded by a person with autism. I was in the media to begin with and with my social worker on the front page of a local newspaper then shortly after another front page featured story and more articles and then I was a reporter on disability inclusion rights progresses for a time. Hence believing some people on here who claim to have it and who hate on it I cannot trust nor deem credible. Yet they claim to be looking out for my best interest! Yeah right and I wouldn't trust anyone without as much confirmed, recorded and obvious credibility then myself and that is what trust is made on. The haters however have no confirmed trustable roots socially and seek to harm it. In five years of work I have never made a dime because I wanted to make sure it would succeed if my intents somehow were to be perceived selfish thus a risk to creating something unique and enabling.

I don't want an apology from some text things on the internet. What I'd like to do is challenge them to go public because I want to set an example of what will not work out of the many other potential injustices things that may hamper the potential of increasing it's success. Also the so called N.T's help more then online people part of this aspie thing and I will not hate the N.T's either simply because bashing them may be popular at times when they are the ones enabling it. They can help enable people so much more then what divisive bickering with the world around people like me has proven with it's hard feelings being created..

Note to people in this forum: focusing on people's spelling or grammar is weak and unnecessary. The points that people are making is what you need to focus on, not the imperfections of communication. I know my spelling isn't perfect.

If you really can't work out what someone is trying to express, then you can ask them to elaborate or explicate, or ignore the posts.

Well that's why I say, if you need help understanding, ask for it.

There's a difference between pointing out someone's errors in an attempt to belittle or provoke, and doing it in an attempt to provide some assistance in improving their communication style.

The manner one goes about doing the latter makes or breaks it.

And before you go thinking I'm aiming this solely at you Gedrene, I'm not!

The problem is that for some people, communication is a real issue, and when the more mercurially functional members start to seem like they are getting superior and lording it over the less gifted, then it starts to become a bit distasteful.

If that's not what's going on, then people need to be clearer about their intentions.

We've probably all experienced bullying and put downs and being made to feel bad about what we can't help, and I don't want WP to be a platform for that kind of thing.

Usually, a heated discussion on issues of importance aren't the best time for an English lesson, it is bound to seem like part of the argument.

I really love this post...it's the sort of thinking that might have persuaded me to return to posting on WP full time...if I could not see more pressing reasons to make myself scarce.

I notice I wrote 'aren't' when I should have put 'isn't'. I hope that doesn't invalidate the rest of everything I have to say.
