I used to wish breast cancer on myself so I could have them cut off because I hated them then. Now I don't wish for it because it's painful to have and it can still come back even if you have had them cut off.

Well, so I can have my ovaries removed for a good reason, because I'm too young to have them removed when they are healthy.

And like everything else there are other options for treatment, you can have breast reduction for instance. At one time I wanted to have cancer so I could know what it is like to be deathly ill. Weird, and at this point, I'd hate it.

Do you realise just how much more painful ovarian cancer can be than a mere period? It sucks. And there's still a chance it can spread somewhere else and you can die. Great wish, that.

Sigh, I'm used to being mocked, so don't you worry about that.

But when I was thinking this, I would hope to have it out before it could spread. I'm pretty stupid, so it would serve me right to have it spread, anyway..

Ummm, yeah... No...

If you are looking for a solution to your problems, you can't be that stupid. Keep looking, try some other solutions, get back to the doctor about birth control, and ask for a pill cycle that involves no period. It can be done, you might need to find the right doctor though.

I am on that pill, no avail, I'm still all mood swingy. I think I better discontinue it. Maybe all I need is hormone cream.

The mood swinginess wont go away because you lose the hormones altogether, what they'd put you on would still allow for it.

How old do you have to be to have it done?
Surely you wont have to wait that long?

My courageous mother endured 2 hellish bouts of breast cancer (including lumpectomy, radiation, chemo, and an eventual mastectomy) in the space of 10 years; each time, she was declared "cancer-free" after 5 years. In 2005, ovarian cancer struck seemingly out of nowhere; because it's a "silent killer" (few noticeable symptoms until it's too late), Mom was already at Stage IV when she was diagnosed. In spite of going through a series of nightmarish, ghastly surgeries and procedures, their aftermath, and multiple series of hardcore, debilitating chemo, Mom died in late November '06.

Ovarian cancer's almost always terminal. Be careful what you wish for.

As far as I know, the only way a reputable doctor will remove the reproductive organs of a healthy adult is if they present with Gender Dysphoria.

Since you don't appear to be a Trans Man, I don't think you can go this route.

They produce hormones your body needs to continue functioning, so without them you'll be on meds for the remainder of your life, which means you need a doctors involvement to monitor hormone levels and adjust accordingly.

This means you're either going to have to be on Estrogen or Testosterone if you want to live for very long. The only bonus of taking Estrogen orally is the dosage is consistent, which means less mood swings, but it beats on your liver, so it will shorten your life.

If really don't recommend you do this. If you insist on doing it, the safest (but still very dangerous) way to go forward is to fake Gender Dysphoria. You'll have to convince 2 psychologists you've wanted to be a boy since childhood, take Testosterone and live as a male for a year, and then you can pay to have them removed, which will run $10,000 minimum - and insurance doesn't cover it. (Trans Men can have the Hysterectomy, but many just go with the Mastectomy for financial reasons).

By most accounts - Testosterone makes you aggressive and horny - every Trans Man I know on T starts getting hairier, and most of them start balding pretty quickly.

This is what's really involved in actually getting what you asked for, are you sure you're ready to go the distance?

Also, your voice could crack in a couple of weeks from starting testosterone.

Troo that.

You might even get an Adam's Apple when the voicebox drops.

Ectomy economy topic

There are healthy ways to ease period pains, craving sweets and ease those mood swings:

Avoid salt, sugar, caffeine and refined flours. Eat a well balanced diet with choices from the different food groups.

Regular exercise, and jogging, bike riding.

Do not use alcohol or recreational drugs.

Practice yoga or some other healthful stress/anxiety ritual.

Take iron supplements to avoid anemia.

When you reach menopause, periods will be a distant memory. You will still have your uterus, which produces a hormone that is heart healthy. The eggs will be gone. There are only so many eggs, and once they are gone, that is it. No more period. :)
