I have a mac and this site is still really slow, stop trying to say your operating system has to do with it. From what you have said I know more about computer than you and I am not trying to say technical advise because I know I am not very knowledgable about computers.

Are you incapable of reading?

The ERROR MESSAGE I got was that a machine on my network was infected with a virus. It was a CLOUDFLARE thing.

The site may damn well be slow, So friggin what? You can still access the site, Can you not?

Actually, the error message said it suspected something was wrong with your network. Cloudflare has 0 clue what's running on your computer (which in and of itself is pretty obvious). It looks for security threats, and throws the word virus around as a benefit of the doubt thing.

There is tons of malware for linux systems, and to think otherwise is foolish.

And, as a network engineer with years of experience, believe me when I say this: an IP address is a string of numbers. Literally. That's it. There is no magic sauce that makes Australia IPs better than any other IP. Again, to think otherwise is foolish.

A page sometimes takes 2 minutes to end up not loading. A page takes 5-10 seconds to load when one of the common symptoms of aspergers/autism is being impatient that combo doesn't work well. normally it should only take a second or 2.

edit: sliqua-jcooter I was saying why it is still an issue for me to use the site even because it is being kind of slow in response to what bcousin had said. I know you know the issues and are working on them

I lack anti-virus. Maybe that will help.

I use Ubuntu 10.04 frequently

I am in Australia

Thats most likely the top 3

the number one reason is more likely..... you spend a lot less time on the site than many of us. i spend many many hours on here every day, so a couple of times a day i normally get the message. now that it's become a regular thing i can avoid it when i can sense it coming (i.e. the page lags), and it's not a big deal.

you location is likely a partial factor because you are probably on the site when most American users are not around.

you might want to take a screenshot of the virus error message so we can better advise you what is going on with that. perhaps you have a virus (you did say that you do not have AV installed, so it could be a possibility).

and settle down.

I also stated that I was at TAFE at the time. All of DETNSW's traffic goes through the same range of 5 IP Addresses. So, It may NOT be my computer either.

Nonetheless, I frankly dont care HOW SLOW the page load time is. RailPage has been worse than this before, and its layout was pretty minimalistic. I deem it necessary (for me at least) to grin and bear it. It'll all get better soon.
