Which Star Trek (tv series) are you favorite
I agree they cancelled Enterprise when it become interesting, IMHO the best season is the 4th season.
In a mirror darkly part 1&2 are two of the greatest episodes of any series. Enterprise deserved to continue.
For those who are interested: Enterprise Season 5 Netflix campaign
I like DS9 for its interesting and likeable characters.

Voyager, hands down. Seven of Nine is (obviously) the most amazing Star Trek character I've encountered. I love Spock and Data, but neither as much as Seven, if she were human, she'd be the epitome of aspie. I love Janeway too; she's a great mix between Kirk, who shoots first and never asks questions, and Picard, who spends all day dithering over semantics and diplomacy and rarely gets things done efficiently; Janeway knows when to talk, and when to shoot. Plus, all the characters being stuck on a starship so far from home brought in a familial feel that none of the other shows really had, which I really liked. The only part I was disappointed with though was when Seven started dating Chakotay at the end of season seven, it just didn't fit with either of their characters. I felt the same way watching TNG when Worf and Dianna started dating; they were totally wrong for each other, it was obvious from season one Dianna and Riker belonged together. I still hate Nemesis for killing off Data. I also wish they would've made Voyager movie, I think it would be the best one of them all.
At the risk of not sounding like a real Trekkie, I never really enjoyed DS9 that much; I'm only on season 3 now, but I find the characters dry and uninspiring. Odo is my favourite because I'm always fond of the "different" ones, but Sisko and the rest are very flat; they are their jobs and nothing more, we rarely get to see any real emotion from them or any reference to their family or personal lives (with the exception of Miles, who doesn't really count because his family is on board with him). It's also too political for my taste, I enjoy the episodes about weird aliens doing crazy things to the ship and the crew, which we got a lot of in TOS (in fact that was pretty much what the entirety of TOS consisted of) and more in Voyager, but DS9 spent too much time having the space station crew and Starfleet arguing with the Cardassians and then the Bajorans and then the Dominion, and it felt like I was watching a political debate on the news. That said, I will find a way to get through the rest of it, because I couldn't call Star Trek my special interest if I hadn't seen all of it.

Star Trek would not be where it is without the original series.
Also... I enjoyed the Animated series as well. Since they have many of the writers and characters/voices of the actors in it, I consider it the fourth season of the original series.
I have always wondered had they kept the series going what the fourth season of the original series would have been like. Same with the animated series.
I own both on DVD and watch them often. They just do something for me and bring back a part of my childhood for a brief moment in time. That means a lot to me. I can daydream and think and relax all at the same time -which is a very rare thing.
Now, I do enjoy TNG as well. Some of the acting/storylines in that was excellent! However, it wasn't the same as the original (which it rightly shouldn't have been) and that is both a good and bad thing.
DS9 had its good moments, but just not the same for me.
Voyager was ok... but I grew bored with it quickly.
Never liked Enterprise from the start.
I like the original too. BTW, the animates series, some do see it as the last two years of the "five year mission." I read the book versions of many of the episodes to the animated series when I was in college 25 years ago.
Voyager was my favorite because the cast of characters weren't so virtous as they were in TNG...seriously the first episode I watched of voyager one of the crew (god it's been so long I forgot alot of names) gave janeway the finger to help the inhabitants of a planet, and his reprimandation was glorious.
I think one episode of TNG pretty much sums up my distaste of the series, it's the one where the Q offered each member of the enterprise one desire they so wish...and they all refused. A more interesting crew would of had atleast two people that weren't so virtuous, it's flaws that make for interesting characters, not perfections. That's what voyager is to me, the crew can be quite erratic/unpredictable.
I don't know why I love it when someone goes off on the deep end and gives the captain the finger, star trek needs so much more of that. ![]()

But in that Next Generation episode, Ryker accepts the power of the Q, and is the one offering to grant wishes - till he realizes what a fool he's been.
Sure, his virtue saves him, though he almost falls to temptation.

I'm surprised so many people forget to mention the animated series. As a matter of fact, without the cartoon, there would be no holodeck. Though as I recall, the original stated purpose of the holodeck was for training purposes - not entertainment with the chance that the program might go haywire and try to kill you.

There's something creepy about how Riker was, with Q whispering over his shoulder, offering these things... I didn't think it was far-fetched for them to refuse. Also there was definitely a group psychological pressure situation there with Picard leading the way. Pity though that Riker successfully used Q power to reverse what should have been the end of a certain character by bayonet.

I remember that too, it sort of was seen as "new" at that time. I remember that episode where the characters were trapped in it. BTW, I also liked the crossover with the Kzinti too.
They are bros nothing more. Plenty of theory about with Garak and Bashir though.

Maybe its because people are mixed up in this forum. So in my country the animated series never was released on german. I only knew it, because my father had a pirate card for english sky channels, including some english cartoon channels. Around that time TNG already existed, so the cartoon was technical very oldfashioned.

So far Next Generation and Deep Space 9, not very much interested in the original...I have seen a couple episodes, but its just so far before my time all their tech looks laughably cheesy to where I can't really enjoy it, and I don't really like the female star-fleet uniforms makes them look like airplane stewardesses rather than star-fleet officers I like the character spock alright but he's really like the only interesting one it seems like. I did like the newer movie based on the original series though.
