You're a full blown cynic... and probably even skeptical of these results.

Well to be honest, I'm no expert on the concept, I'm just telling you what I believe myself to have seen, and according to all the Cynics that I know it isn't about Religion. Are you sure you picked the right Dictionary? I mean they don't all give the same deffinitions.
I picked Dictionary.com which is typically an acceptable source, not only that but just about any dictionary of some reliability can be used anyway as if any good dictionary comes to a conclusion then it usually shows the idea behind the word well enough. I will not claim to be an expert on language or psychology.Cynicism isn't about religion but that does not mean that the cynical aren't less likely to trust religion. Cynics tend to distrust human beings and human institutes as being corrupt, correct? Religion is a human institution that is often used for corrupt ends and there have been many contradicting religions in the history of the world. These premises, combined with the distrust of humanity tend to lead to the conclusion that religion is a creation of the power hungry to exploit the people and retain power at least in the minds of the very cynical. Let us even look at it this way: which group is more likely to accept the claims of faith and which is

If you don't trust most of the human race that doesn't mean you expect them to harm you (Paranoia), it just means you don't expect them to do the things they say they do.
It does mean that you expect them to harm you whenever they have opportunity to benefit from it. If you tell your friend a secret then expect him to betray you. If you are caught in an alleyway with a stranger then grab your pepper spray in expectation. Let us even look at the definition of paranoia from my previous source:
par·a·noi·a (pār'ə-noi'ə) Pronunciation Key n.
1. A psychotic disorder characterized by delusions of persecution with or without grandeur, often strenuously defended with apparent logic and reason.
2. Extreme, irrational distrust of others.
If one looks at definition 2 then it can really fit in with extreme cynicism as the extremely cynical are extremely distrusting of others and although they may attempt to claim rationality on such, the deeper roots of their beliefs are not necessarily so.

I don't know what rejecting pseudoscience has to do with being cynical.
