I am under the impression that AmeriCorps jobs are usually temporary jobs.

Trust me: you don't want yet another "temporary" job.

You want something permanent---with benefits.

I'd take a state job over the vast majority of jobs.

I saw that and got mad because I don't live in one of those counties but extremely close. But I called anyway and they told me the counties have "border regions" and my current address is in it so I should qualify for the above program and have my medications completely covered. But there is a hitch, my insurance still has my AmeriCorps location address in it's system even though I tried to change it which is in a completely ineligable location. So I'll fix this tomorrow by showing them my ID with my current address.

Oh, I actually called and confirmed my med would be covered under this program with one of the insurance companies.

Although I couldn't promise it, I suspect that it would. One more reason not to worry to excess, but only to pursue a resolution.

Not resolved yet... The drug plan hasn't kicked in yet and today I tried to refill my medication and I had to walk out due to inability to pay. I called my psychatrist doctor office and they said I had to talk to my caseworker about such matters and she won't be in until Thursday. I run out of medication in three days

All I can say is, try to remain calm.

One of my aunt's agreed to buy the meds, but my husband isn't happy for another reason. Today is his birthday and he got a puppy... Yes a puppy when cash would have been 10 times more useful and now we have to take care of him when we can barely take care of ourselves. Then my relatives are giving me bad attitudes because I asked for help.

If you are wondering, I did have to borrow money but I got my medication. The copays are not really that high if I can't get into the program I wanted to, I'll just have to anticipate the copays or hope our income does increase soon. I'm borrowing extra money off a relative but have to pay her back with interest.

I got this solved today, I am in a qualitying area for the program mi health link and I enrolled today. That program will cover all my copays for medication. But I do have to move eventually, if I move into the wrong area I will loose my new insurance! This will actually effect where I will be looking for places. The two local jobs I'm most likely to get are in the right area so we could find a place even closer to the jobs probably. Wouldn't be a problem if they had the program throughout the state!

Oh, and they told me my current doc takes this insurance, at least I don't have to find a new one!

That's all good news. But why does this have to be so damn complicated!?

I have no clue why they would offer insurance for duel eligables for thier medications but only in certain parts of the state. Maybe if there it's enough demand they will expand it to other areas?

There probably is a different provision in those other parts of the state; or maybe the program you're eligible for is a pilot program and will be expanded at some point. But gee whiz. Anyway, glad it is going to work out for you.
