My field is a bit narrow, telling it would likely reveal my real name ;) I don't want to do it on a forum where I discuss my mental health and family problems.

I am Aspie. My husband is BAP borderline Aspie. Our daughter is Aspie. Our other daughter is... I would call it high functioning ADHD :D and maybe BAP but I'm not sure.
ED: I'm using these labels as sets of characteristics only. None of us has an official diagnosis thought my Asperger's was identified by a psychologist - the one who was able to help me.

Magz seems like she's really accomplished in her field.

And she's raising kids. And not basing everything upon "scientific logic"---but on common sense.

I find that to be admirable.

I think she's doing an outstanding job in very difficult circumstances and she's always putting her family first, at a significant personal cost.

I particularly appreciate that she sees her children as actual human beings and invests in their well being as future adults, instead of treating them (like so many) as little creatures/objects meant to please others.

Not as much as I would like in terms of titles and publications... my mind is faster than my abillity to work and there is so much interfering... but I am a bit recognizable on conferences so sort of, yes.

Thanks. It's so hard and I sometimes forget why I can't keep my apartament tidy... especially after confrontations with my inlaws who are so focused on superficial status and appearence. I'm so much against it and I feel so lonely when my husband swings back and forth in our conflict.

Thank you. It means so much to me. When I am physically weak and feel alone in my deepest beliefs of what is right.

I have not kept up with this thread, but I will say that Mags. You have a beautiful caring heart. I hope you recover quickly. No rush, but I hope that you are back in top form within no time. You are doing a splendid job.

Agreed. Written more eloquently than I could.

you can't measure your retail value.

plenty of precious lil "people" act like they are so awesome.

they are totally full of themselves.

even the exchange rate of monetary currency fluctuates daily

Thanks, I think I can now run on my own ones if I save them.

@Possum You are as supportive as a gallows. Mods, don't remove his messsage. Let others know what not to do in The Heaven.

Good to hear Magz.

I wish there was an app that tapped into your psyche and told you how many spoons you had left and how many spoons an activity might use up ( copyrighted by Ferris International Industries  ).

I will leave messages up as a lesson for others although tbh 99% of people here know what's expected in the Haven.

That would be splendid!
My internal sensors just tell me that I'm above or below the threshold, no info of how much is left.

Have you ever heard of "The Energy Accounting Method?"
I'm not sure if maybe this would help with balancing your spoons?
By the way, you seem like Wonder Woman, compared to me!

Nope and googling returns only engineering stuff.

Thanks.
I'm hitting my limits really hard, it hurts.

I was sent that article ^^ in the link, via email.

I just tried an online search, and I couldn't really see anything dedicated to it either. Just arcticles that reference the method. Sorry!
It seems the Energy Accounting Method comes from a Presentation at a conference.

I'll keep looking for some information on it.

The energy accounting method

The energy accounting method works by sitting down with the person with autism and creating a long list of things that sap energy from them (withdrawals) and replenish energy in them (deposits). A numerical value is then added to each withdrawal or deposit to give it a weighting.

The idea is that when a withdrawal is made, or numerous withdrawals are made, deposits have to be made too in order to prevent the account running into the negatives, which can trigger a meltdown.

Thanks, the previous link didn't load :)

It's just a systematic way of counting spoons. If only there was someone or an app to do it for me ;)
