It all starts with God busting ass all week to make this Universe thing in the first place (heaven, earth, and mankind), and then he rests on the Seventh day. TGIF.

The Book of Matthew says that there were 14 (two times seven)generations from Abraham to David. Another 14 between David, and the Exile in Babylon. And finnally another 14 generation between the Exile, and the Messiah.

Kind of combing the two base numbers of Mesopotamian culture by multiplying six times seven to make 42 generations.

While certain numbers are repeated, they have nothing to do with what passes for "modern" numerology.

We get it, Fnord, how dare we cast aspersions on the purity of the bible, dare assume it has been tainted with that devilish witchcraft of numerology. It's strange, i would have never figured you for a religious type. I though you was the science guy. I would have guessed hardcore material secular atheist. You are fairly rational, so i guess you fooled me.

Is this a debate...? Were you a skilled debater at school? everybody has their own opnions, and interpretations, nobody is going to agree on something as sensitive as this. ( whole generations have been indoctrinated, to defend it till the death.) Individuals make a choice in what makes the most sense. That's 'free will'. Which i take it you believe in. I do to. I think the evidence is more than enough for the symbolic interpretation, The esoteric one. I 100% side with aghogday stance on this.

No book has been went over, and with as many neurological interpretations. Now maybe some of it is human fallacious thinking, seeing patterns that aren't there, and maybe some of it was intentionally encoded. But the bible is very dense in symbolic meaning. It's like they packed in thousand years of knowledge into one book. I'm not gonna pretend to know the mind of the authors. But it was very different to ours. Esoteric knowledge was known to intellectuals and scholars of antiquity. Library of Alexander. Ancient mystery schools of Greece. Buddhism in the East. Zoroastrianism. All played a role in the development of the bible. The roman Empire was a multicultural empire, the early Christians traveled far and wide. Numerology almost had to play a role. Numerology and astrology being some of the most ancient and sacred forms of knowledge, at that time.

Yes, I have read this crap. It is based on assumptions and "spiritual learning".

In no way does it prove numerology as a valid science.

But if your real goal is to make money off of gullible seekers, I recommend Astrology and Tarot, since people are willing to pay for these activities to be performed in front of them on their behalf -- and "performed" is the key word here.

I don't think anybody is claiming numerology is a 'valid science,' or any kind of science.

I would say a better way to make money off of gullible seekers, Is to form you own non-taxed evangelical ministry. Of course you've got to be quite charismatic, and quite ruthless, to make any kind of 'prophet.'

Yep. Bakker and Swaggart are multi-millionaires who made their money of the gullibility of their followers through religion. Same for Browne and Edward, but through their claims of "psychic" ability.
