Going to Japan made me dislike my own country even more...

Btw I noticed something when I was reading about Japanese mythology online.

Japan's Underworld, which is called "Yomi", is actually very similar to the Mesopotamian Underworld known as "Kur". Both are dark and gloomy places where yokai/demons/ghouls reside and every mortal is destined for this depressing place regardless of how good or evil they were in life.

Also the Goddess of the Underworld, Izanami, shares some similarities with both Ereshkigal who was the Underworld Goddess to the Sumerians and Persephone the Underworld Goddess to the Ancient Greeks (like in her case she was bound to the Land of the Dead after eating the fruits of the Underworld).

I find it very interesting. :nerdy:

To be fair I became disillusioned with my country looong before I went to Japan. I'm talking back to the George W. Bush years when I was still a teenager.
