I'm not sure that is very clear, Tekneek. I hope it answers your question?

Not really, but there may not be a clear answer anyway. I know, when it comes to this religious stuff, it rarely makes any sense to me.

Fair enough!

I kind of view it like the President.

The president might say he thinks dark socks should be washed on even days and white socks on odd days.

It doesn't effect me unless he somehow manages to make a law about it.

Then I decide weither to follow the law or not, realizing there is conseuqences either way.

The Pope has said he doesn't like HP.

It doesn't effect me unless he somehow manages to make a law about it.

Then I decide weither to follow the law or not, realizing there is conseuqences either way.

Take care,

This situation is rediculous. What's wrong with just reading whatever the heck you enjoy?

Yes.

At one point I was very active in adult education, hosting classes/programs for active Catholics, inactive Catholics interested in a second looks, and non-Catholics interested in learning more about the Catholic church.

Now I'm too busy raising my children to commit that amount of time to the Church. I'd like to get back to it but the Church has a lot of older people who volunteer...they need younger ones, not more older ones.

I guess I'm part of the Religious Left politically. This ought to go over really well but... the church staff member in charge of Adult Education (a former Nun) used to say she didn't realize one could be Catholic and a Republican at the same time until she moved to Arizona whist in her 40s. And one of the priest is a married man with four children.

I mention this last paragraph to get people thinking...the Catholic Church may not be what one thinks it is.

I agree about the Catholic church not being what it appears. Ive always believed, and this topic confirms, that Pope Benedict is Voldemort in disguise, and he is trying to blind us by slagging off harry potter, the only book which can open our eyes.

JK Rowling = Dumbledore with a shave. always thought she looked like a bloke.

Seriously though Pope Benedict is....very much a traditionalist. I fear the church is heading towards anothe major schicm. It saddens me.

Trolling is a term used for the act of inciting trouble and arguments on messageboards/forums, although its real use is to instantly dismiss anything someone has said by labeling it "trolling".

I wouldn't waste my time merely trolling. I've been on the Internet for over 13 years. Trolling stopped being fun about 10 years ago. It was a completely honest question that I thought would be answered and it was.

I'm sorry about that then. I was tired and didn't realize that you were posing an honest question.

I think this encyclopedia article will help explain the Pope's authority: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pope#Status_and_authority
