I read that at least 32 people in the US got hepatitis A after eating food infected with the virus. One victim was a six-year-old kid who needed a liver transplant afterwards.

This was in 1999 and people working at Subway weren't washing their hands. 2020 has proven people never learn.

Taco Bell and McDonalds I can't eat, gives me the runs. Subway I used to eat all the time but they got too expensive, I used to do the 5$ footlongs a lot. Now the same thing is nearly $12, I don't think so.

Jared? He's in Supernatural isn't he?

No, he's in prison for kiddie diddling.

Ooh! That's not Sammy from Supernatural at all is it? What a bastard, and it seems the Subway management didn't care a toss. I can see why that would put people off Subway. I'll have to quote that next time I get social pressure to go there.

And they only deal with cash as well which I like for some reason

Ours didn't even do the pies and sausages if I remember right. Proper spartans, we Sheffielders.

Cash has its attractions. Some traders like it because it's easier to fiddle the taxes. When my brother-in-law was a tax man, he ended up doing an experiment to find out the wastage when they make chips, and caught a chippie owner bang to rights for lying about that. But I've also heard that it's very hard to run a straight small business.

I Think that it's reasonably fresh, tastes OK and is about as healthy as you usually find in a restaurant. I can't say that I have strong feelings either way. I certainly wouldn't go around badmouthing them, but it's not a chain that I get excited by the prospect of eating at. Since they discontinued their fake crabmeat sandwhich, nothing has really made me miss eating there. Plus, around here, we have several better options for sandwiches.

I'd feel a bit badmouthed if somebody called me unexciting and put it about that there were better options than me. But you're right, it's not full-blown badmouthing. And you did point out that other eating houses are probably just as risky healthwise. I've always had trouble trusting business types to feed me healthy. I've heard tales.

I'm not sure that unexciting with food qualifies. Bad mouthing would be calling it bland. Food isn't normally supposed to be exciting, at least not for less than $100 a plate.

Well, I think badmouthing is a continuum thing that merges with criticism at its low end, and which it is at the boundary becomes rather meaningless.

I think because subway struggles to maintain relevance. They do sandwiches, and it's very unlikely sandwiches will become trendy like the other fast food establishments.
That being said, in my suburb. A footlong sub without the cookie and drink cost around $13. Which I consider to be good value, it beats both mcdonalds and KFC for price. And the amount of fillings on the sandwhich are unlimited afaik.

I've had it a few times and was mostly meh about it. There's a shop right behind where I live..literally across our small street...but haven't bothered yet. The local convenience store (Sheetz) offers a decent sub selection, and it's no fuss ordering from a touch screen. I've also had Jersey Mike's and Firehouse and like them better.

I could do you a sandwich a lot cheaper than that. Not much choice of fillings, bread type or size, until I've made enough profit to expand. Exact price, and terms and conditions, available on application. Alternatively you could probably undercut me by making your own sandwich cheaper than what I'd charge you, depending on the prices of your local ingredients.

I like Subway! And I am an Aspie so I almost always order one of two sandwiches, the one for eating there and the one for to-go. I typically go to Subway a few times a month unless it is a month my bride will be spending more time home—she is not fond of Subway.

Oh, softlyspeaks41: Sheetz is relatively new in our area; I'm still learning what I like there. How about Potbelly?

Or I could work for you making the sandwiches untill I learn exactly how to run a sandwich buisness, start my own sandwich buisness, wait to get popular enough that you end up buying me out and I retire in a remote village in Vietnam. Where sandwiches cost a dollar.
