Oh I am sorry to hear it firemonkey. But it makes perfect sense to me.

Around fifth grade I developed the habit of just standing in the corner during breaks reciting poetry or bits of textbooks.

Could I revive within me
Her symphony and song,
To such a deep delight ’twould win me,
That with music loud and long,
I would build that dome in air,
That sunny dome! those caves of ice!
And all who heard should see them there,
And all should cry, Beware! Beware!
His flashing eyes, his floating hair!
Weave a circle round him thrice,
And close your eyes with holy dread
For he on honey-dew hath fed,
And drunk the milk of Paradise.

A teacher took me aside and kindly informed me that the other children would never respect me so long as I did that, which was relevant but not particularly constructive feedback.

Dear Mr. M. of sixth grade, if I'd known what I was supposed to have been doing, I'd have done it!!

shaking my fist at the sky

I got sent to a residential school by the social services for a couple of years and I suppose that was like a boarding school

It's a very different experience to mainstream school because you have to survive it in a very different way

I'm so sorry you struggled firemonkey

Thank you. I think my father's refusal to switch from the foreign office to the home office, so I didn't have to go to boarding school, was the thing that eventually destroyed my parents' marriage. Going to prep school was the start of my being increasingly unable to function well in a neurotypically dominated world.

They did when I was at school but I didn't go. I don't know if they still do.

Did you go to yours, babybird?

Yeah I went to the school disco

It was during the 80s so it's a long time ago. That's why I wondered if they still did them

What did they wear to school discos in the '80s  did you have a leather jacket.

Was it fun? I sort of always regretted not going.

I don't know what people wore to the school disco 40 years ago
In my case it was probably jeans

I don't know if it was fun
It's just something we went to

I think that when they invented school they didn't account for the lawlessness that goes on within such institutions

Nobody ever got a first-rate education by going to school :P

At best I think it is a social experience. At worst I think it can be very unpleasant.

We had a teacher who was nicknamed "knuckle nose"

I think it was because the end of her nose looked like a knuckle

Sometimes when I'm being naughty I get imaginary people in my head shouting "Miss Miss babybirds doing this, Miss Miss babybirds doing that"

School shouldn't be the place for potty training

class one i didn't go to, sometimes i got to bring the work and get new from the teacher, one night a older girl attacked
me on the street - i never understood that ?? is it the eyes???
second class first day/week?, there was a boy that flew of the handle, stuff flew around and at the teacher mostly, that was another frightening event, plus on the playground the big girls outside accused me of fighting (with the big girls?)

the pe teacher told me first lesson (that i couldn't do), he was absolutely not going to help me ever (now i guess that was political)
i always stayed horrible at pe, but got the 6(out of 10) for trying :|

i even liked going to school, but only for the teachers and learning :shameonyou: :shameonyou:
