I am a great potential boyfriend for the right person. I am convinced of that. Neither of you know me so why should I value your opinion on the issue. You have both made your position clear. I have made my position clear.

I am 39, and I would love to get into a relationship, if anyone is interested I would love to chat :)

I'm convinced I'm the Queen of Sheeba, but that don't make it true son.

Your inability to handle gentle and constructive criticism is a good sign that your self-evaluation is not accurate because who would want to involve themselves with someone who's that thin-skinned and arrogant?

And I am 30, and in a successful relationship, trying to tell you what does work and what will get you what you want. You just don't want to hear it. :hmph:

I think the part you are struggling to get is I want to be with someone who accepts me the way I am. I don't want to change for some mythical person :)

I believe the right person is out there for me :)

No, you've made that loud and clear. What you're being told is that you're going to continue to lack success if you decide to allow the famous autistic rigidity to win here.

Neither you nor I can predict the future. If it makes you feel better I am in therapy. I usually argue why it is impossible for me to get a girlfriend, and my therapist argues back at me that I have a ton to offer and should not be so negative.

So the person I actually know, talk to and who knows me disagrees completly.

That is why I have such confidence that the right person is out there for me :)

Ironically you're fixated on some mythical person (the "right person") while rejecting any advice that might broaden the field beyond that hypothetical person.

The "way you are" has to be compatible with forming relationships with others, if forming relationships with others is the goal. If being aloof, inflexible and unwilling to consider the perspectives of others who are genuinely seeking to help you is the way you are, being alone will also inevitably be part of the way you are as well.

All I know is my therapist tells me I have a lot to offer and that I should have way more confidence.

I realize I am unique, but the one person who talks to me and knows me thinks that I will make a great boyfriend someday.

You might have a bunch of positive traits as well, but that doesn't mean that they exist in a vacuum.

One can have a bunch of positive traits but if their personality is so repellent that no one will ever get to know them well enough to notice, they will need to work on being less repellent in order to let others potentially discover those positive traits.

Making this bold for emphasis.

Also, when a therapist offers you feedback like that, they're encouraging you to learn more about yourself and develop yourself, not that you are perfectly fine just the way you are and not in need of being able to grow. Being unable to demonstrate growth is the biggest turn-off for women, even the desperate ones.

Someday means not today, at some latter point.

In this case, once you address your not-positive traits which are masking all of your positive traits.

My therapist thinks I would make a great boyfriend today. I assure you. Granted he is probably being a tad optimistic, but again, he knows me, talks to me, sees me in person. Sees how I talk to people, treat people. I will take his opinion far more seriously.

I know who I am, I like who I am :)

I think the right person is out there for me :)

There is a difference between "I know the right person is out there for me" and "this person is the right person for me." Your method of searching for the right one at the moment is going to do nothing but make you unhappy.

The person I pay to tell me to not give up tells me I'm doing great, therefore I don't need to listen to any other feedback is a bold strategy, let's see how it works out for you.

You've certainly got the winning track record to show for it. That's why I'm always here posting about how I need a romantic partner meanwhile you have a very fulfilling romantic life and only ever offer advice.
