You might be able to recover his posts. It necessarily doesn't mean they are missing, just that the relationship between the user and the post doesn't exist.

If you search for a typical richard benson post in the posts table and make sure you can confirm it is his. In this post he is quoted:
http://www.wrongplanet.net/postxf39674-0-15.html
Search for the quoted post directly in the database.

You must create a copy of the user table first.

Then you recreate the username richardbenson in the user table with that user index of that post. For the password you should be able to use MD5(‘somepassword’). Though it doesn’t matter he can just use the forgotten password feature to send a new one to his email. Then he can change it to what he wants. You may have to disable autoindexing at in order to insert the id.

That is if any of his posts still exits. There is a possibility that there is or was an interjection vulnerability on this site. Or it could be just a simple case of them accidentally getting deleted.

Of course they'll be restored. We back everything up. Hopefully they'll be restored by saturday.

As long as you'll be able to restore just his posts or username.

You don't want that snapshot to replace everyone’s posts since or new users.

don't worry. his posts will be selected from an older snapshot and inserted into the live database. we wont be rolling back the entire db.

One of those snapshots would be good for you to create your own sandbox on a test server. That would minimize disruption on the live site.
