I was thinking something about this the other day so...

USA

Pros:
Freedom of Speech
Right to Vote
Cultural Diversity
National Parks
Lots of Technology
Plenty of food around

Cons:
Too many religious conservatives trying to create a theocracy
Corporatism
Racism, not direct racism but it still simmers in a lot of places
Sucky health care system(thanks to corporatism)
A lot of crime compared to other western nations
A work yourself to death mentality

The United Kingdom, namely England.

Pros:
Some breathtaking scenery.
Respectable heritage.
English-speaking (not because it's the language I speak; if it happened people spoke Inuit languages here it'd still be convenient in that means, but rather that English is the most widely-spoken language, so information is easy to grasp without having to learn a second tongue).
A lot of awesome architecture up until some w*ker invented pebble-dash.
Freedom of speech and so on—mustn't forget that very basic, essential aspect which I'm lucky to have in this world.
The British sense of humour.
Football is popular.
Relatively easy to live vegan.
Fairly secular.
We have a few good accents.
No conscription.

Cons:
Very small socialist party (SWP).
The Conservative Party is getting a very frightening amount of support.
Rising tide of fascism and BNP tossers.
Crap weather: sane to go outside by May, and from there only very patchy until October, in which it goes back to being insane to go outside, bar when the weather is around freezing, by which time everything's beautiful to look at. Nearly always overcast.
Horrible drinking-to-get-drunk culture. It's pretty much always been around, but peaked again. I don't drink to get drunk; I don't eat to be obese (in a deliberate sense, I may add; no offense to anyone here suffering from obesity).
Horrible government still masquerading as socialists; in fact vehemently free-market—also illiberal.
Closed-in people, hard to approach.
Many towns in the north are pretty dilapidated, and there's too huge a concentration of wealth in the south east. On top of that, there is a large divide between the rich and poor.
The education system is absolutely abysmal, and there's a wealth of terrifying young people around.
A lot of people seem to reject our culture (here, that is).
Litter is absolutely abundant, yet graffiti sadly not so.
The East Midlands still isn't below sea level.

repressed "father knows best" country

I'm pretty sure that IS the UK

Oh, and I also like how Britain isn't hot on patriotism, or gun ownership. And also dislike our war on drugs.
