preferably- no humans. androids would be ok though.

version with humans- devoid of all the sad evolutionary side effects, like blindly believing in fairy tales, only altruistic towards certain groups (nations, races). and most of all- not meaning what they say and not saying what they mean.

LOL I agree with you. but in the perfect world, we would be able to have our cakes! and eat them!

Secondly, I'd split the landmass up to a nice 50/50 and say those for currancy live on the developed front, and those for bartering live on the non-polluted, self-sustaining portion (if such a thing exists anymore.) Somewhere they'd meet in the middle-- the new bohemians would produce food, the technological class would produce "safe" conveniences.

I'd reduce the population to around 600 million, with whomever is to be part of the remaining humans being randomly selected. Pretty much solve most worldly issues with this.

well, the question is, would it be necessarily the case?
Magnus' idea isn't bad, but somehow incomplete, we should also be able to feel each other emotions and sensations, especially pain, that should be very interesting.

If there was only 1 thing I could do to change the world....
I would remove religion, many of the evils in the world are caused by it.

One with a lot less people in it, like a fraction of the present number, say 1/7. However, I can't advocate mass murder, so I would have to hope for some natural disaster that decreases the human reproductive rate. Then I would like to be alive at a different time when there are fewer people and more access to nature, so I would need a time machine.

I guess you meant something constructive to change the world today, but sadly I don't see any hope there. Inflicting my preferences on the world would just make me a dictator.

Hmm.... those would either have to be rather complex androids or something, because people cannot even function without the use of some heuristic rather than a logical algorithm.

I agree with Greenblue. We would have to be completely telepathic for it to work.
Somehow I just assumed that we would be able to feel each others emotions as well.
