All governments eventually lead to tyranny. It's okay as long as the tyrant is accepted by the people. Once a tyrant gets out of hand and the people get fed up, a revolution occurs. This is the pattern in politics and Plato describes it in The Republic.

Now, I believe they figured out how to keep the masses in line. Bernays was paid by the government to advise them as to how to control the masses through the media. Freud also contributed to the Nazi's understanding of propaganda. Bernays and Freud were related btw.

See..... I'm not trying to pick on you or make fun of you Anubis, honestly... I need to point 1 thing out though..... Whatever response I get I from people on here I do not really care... I used to be a lot like that, because of the frustration I delt with due to albeist institutions within society, and being aspie and all...... And getting all "aspies are some superior breed of beings" etc etc what not..... But honestly, I've grown out of that for at least 2 or 3 yrs now.....

Are there some ableist NTs and non-disabled? Yeah there are plenty of them because we live in a eugenics-based society... Almost every depiction of disabled people today on TV are a pure minstrel show, advocacy services pity us and treat us like children and charity cases, and your never taken seriously as an adult until you start standing up for yourself....

I've been there. All advertisements and soap operas and s**t promoting GQ models living in 12 story mansions dating equally rich and GQ partners, driving in limos, as the "norm" setting standards most people can't meet (and people NT and aspie alike beat themselves up for.... That makes me sad)... Everyone just follows the stars..... (on an outside point here, why follow something you can't reach?).

Point is society and "advocacy services" make you feel like s**t, you internalise that project it back, and are no better than the "advocacy workers" and the "almighty abled people" who didn't take you seriously...... Your technically adopting a similar attitude to combat it.

I'm not coming down on you Magnus, I'm not chewing you out or anything, because your not likely that aware yet of yourself and I was like that at one time. I know because I used to be that way......

But this is the thing, we've got to look at ourselves too. How are we gonna beat ignorance and hate with ignorance and hate? I'm not saying your (for lack of a better term) NT-phoebic Magnus, I'm not saying that at all..... But we're no different in faults and or weaknesses than anyone else.

Believe me, I've met smart NTs, and not so smart NTs, I've met smart aspies. and I've met not so smart aspies.... Some NTs are really cool people, some aspies are not very cool people. And vice versa. Lets just say there are smart people, and not so smart people....

It's an individual thing. From my experience, aspies just take more interests in general into things like science and politics and mathematics, recreational and creative outlets etc. in a higher percentage of our own community than NTs do of theirs. That's all, internal statistic percentages....

I can't see how NT vs. AS is like chimp vs bonobo, considering that AS cases tend towards introversion and 'not giving a shit' in general.

Hell from my experiences an aspies and NTs don't really think very differently at all. My whole thing wasn't trying to cut her down at all it was just to say "hey lets stop acting superior".

If you did any research you would see what correlation I was talking about. Don't ruin my words by taking them out of context.

The common chimp is ruled by an alpha male. They are more aggressive. They hunt and fight more than the bonobo.
They do not have as much sex as the bonobo and this makes them aggressive, I think. There have been far more cases of infanticide and murder for no reason. The common chimps have wars with neighboring tribes. All this is caused, in my opinion, by their hierarchy and the fact that they do not have sex as much with exception to the alpha male.

Compare this to the Bonobo who is peaceful and I don't know of any wars between tribes. They engage in homosexuality and the females make themselves readily available to males. They use sex as a means to pacify the group.

Look at this aspie quiz. There is some evidence that shows that NT's are more conventional and AS's are unconventional when it comes to sex. Take a look around at aspies. They are different, and I'm sorry to sound politically incorrect, but I also must point out the obvious if you fail to see it. I also said that aspies are more specialized and normal people are generalized. Generalization is the crowning glory of our widespread success as animals. Now, we are faced with a dilemma. Aspies are not as focused on climbing the social ladder and don't really give a s**t sometimes. Sometimes they obsess to the point that they want to change the world for the better, which is in my case.

Bonobos didn't engage in social climbing because there is no hierarchy as we know it. There are some more powerful than others and more respected, but it's an individual thing with the bonobos and they can live just fine without playing a role in the group.
They sort of just all live amongst each other. There is also way less manipulation going on because there is not the need to rise above to the top. Aspies are more passive too.

It would take more than a little academic research and statistics to make me believe that

I like anarchy in principle but have yet to be convinced it would work in practice. I think the best thing to do for now is dramatically reduce the size and scope of government. Once we do that and show that limited government can work, then we can talk about reducing it further, possibly to nothing.

Yes, they were anarchists, but anarchists for good reasons. They were unfairly taxed by King George the III when King George the III didn't apply the same taxes to the citizens of England. Let me state that at the beginning, the colonists of the 13 colonies first sent a letter to King George, asking him to repeal the taxes he sent over and asking for representation in House of Lords in England for them. They stated they were being unfairly taxed aka taxation without representation. They said that they STILL wanted to be subjects under the rule of King George the III, but they wanted these taxes to be repealed.

It was only after repeated rejections from King George the III, and repeated taxes that he enforced upon the colonist that the colonies decided to rebel against King George. The colonists were strong believers in John Locke's social contract theory "When the ruling party becomes corrupt and ceases to look out for the interests of the people, whom have placed faith in the government, than it is the people's duty to overthrow that government and institute a new one"

Now Magnus, I have just given you ammunition for a rebuttal based on what I've just said , so I will make sure that I clearly state the differences between a good government and a bad government. Let's look at the United States government. We have a Bill of Rights, discussing the rights and freedoms we have as citizens of the United States under the law. They are:

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Amendment II

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

Amendment III

No soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.

Freedom to not be able to incrimidate yourself during a trial, freedom to not be tried for the same crime twice. Freedom from excessive bail and cruel and unusual punishment (I will have to disagree with the electric chair on this, that is cruel and unusual).

Yes, there are certain problems with our government, but we are doing pretty well when it comes to the rights of citizens. We also elect represenatives to represent our beliefs and values in both the House of Represenatives and the Senate. We have special interest groups and lobbys who go for certain actions based on belief. We have a balance of powers and checks and balances in the Legislative Branch, Judicial Branch, and Executive Branch so that not one of them will become powerful than the others. You don't like our president? That's fine, he only can serve two terms in office, and then he is out. You don't like certain represenatives, you have the right not to vote for them. Yes, things may be bad with the War in Iraq, but at least we retain our rights and values as citizens of America. Hell, even Bush hasn't raised the draft, and although I greatly disagree with what he's done, I'm thankful he hasn't done that. Where is this tyranny you speak of?

I know I sound somewhat like I jerk, but I'm trying to get my point across to you so it makes sense. It is your right to believe it or not, and I'm just informing you of my opinion. I disagree with what you said, but remember Patrick Henry "I may disagree with you, but I will die for the right for you to say it". Well I won't die for you to say it, but you get my point

If you think our system is bad, you should look at Iran, which is a theocracy, where women have little-no rights/worth and where Islam dictates every aspect of life. Homosexuals are executed for being gay and if you are a Christian or have any other belief besides Islam, you are persecuted and killed for what you believe in. You may stand trial, but the trial is rigged from the start and you will be more than likely executed. In Iran, you don't get the luxury of lethal injection, you are hanged by a cherry picker. No mercy, you don't even have the lucky chance for your neck to snap like a traditional hanging and kill you instantly, you have to slowly suffocate to death. Marriages are arranged and forced. People are forced to convert to Islam or die very often. People can destroy your property without being tried and prosecuted if you believe in something besides Allah and the Koran.

Look at China, where the government brutally tortures and kills anyone who has a religion, because it goes against the communist government's "atheistic approach". The churches that are allowed are closely monitored by the Communists, who force these churches to hunt down house churches, and house churches are illegal. Members of cults and religons are persecuted, brutally tortured (beatings with clubs and electric batons, burned with cigarettes-irons used to iron clothes-red hot pokers, force feedings with tubes shoved down people's throats and noses (many people die of this). I could go on, but you have a very graphic picture to work with) People are typically poor and are farmers, and only the top government officials are paid well and are given benefits. There is no way you can improve in society, you do the job your parents did. You are only allowed to have one to two children max, any more than that are killed off. People are executed without trials by a jury of peers. Girls are sold into prostitution. Children as young as six work in factories with very little or no pay and without any breaks for days at a time. The government can take your property and you have no say in the matter. Democracy is forbidden and looked down upon, people may even be killed because of it (remember Tianemmen Square?)

Look at areas in Africa where there are revolutionary movements and entire families and villages are killed. Young male children are captured by revolutionaries and trained to kill anyone who disagrees with their philosphy. Women are often raped and there is no one to prosecute those who do it. Girls and young women are sold into prostitution. The governments are usually right wing dictatorships and they do very little to nothing to help the common man. Revolutionaries slaughter people with machetes and cut off body parts of villagers as a warning not to mess with them. Attempted genocides of certain African ethnic groups occur (Rwanda). Africans are often forced into slave labor, working in the diamond mining industry, without little food or water. People live in poverty and squalor, like living in disease ridden huts and ghettos.


Just by knowing these things, I am grateful for the system we have in place, very grateful. We live like kings and queens when the rest of the world doesn't. So anarchy, no, I won't believe in it, I won't accept, and I certainly will not endorse it. You are entitled to your belief, but now you understand why I believe in mine. At a glance, it appeared to do some accounting type tasks, fill them in an Excel spreadsheet, and then dump that into a Word document.

C++ is more familiar for me than a shit language like Visual Basic for Applications, so I was able to re-implement the other guy pretty easy and demolish your original in the process. That is self-evident.

That I don't use VB, plus that the organization of your VB code is even more horrendous than that of the C++, makes it more difficult for me to read. Nevertheless I can see that front-end and back-end aren't separated (generally true of all VB code, by its very nature) and in general there is very little attempt at organization.

A few semesters down the road, I intend to get started on Haskell, a programming language that requires you to understand category theory in order to get it to do anything useful. Don't pretend Visual Basic is beyond my grasp. I just don't care about it that much.

"Here" meaning California? There are Free State Project members from CA, as well as libertarians and anarchists of all stripes. I don't know if it's worth it to try to change CA, for my part I do plan to move to New Hampshire as soon as it's practical rather than try to change Pennsylvania. CA does have some things going for it from a limited government perspective, like medical marijuana and gay marriage, but in terms of taxes, government spending, gun control, and an overall nanny state mentality, it is quite pro-big government, and likely to stay that way for the foreseeable future. If you get a chance, visit New Hampshire for the Porcupine Festival in late June (the exact dates for next year will be posted on the website when they become available). There is also the Liberty Forum March 5-8. I have not been to the Liberty Forum, yet but have been to 3 Porc Fests, and found them very encouraging. If you do decide to go let know, it would great to meet you there!
