when our collective backs are against the wall then we'll have no choice but to fight back, however feebly.

Let's say I'm sitting in a park enjoying a nice sandwich for lunch. A politician and a rich man come by and the rich man says he's hungry so the politician takes my sandwich and gives it to the rich man and he eats it. I tell them that was my sandwich and I paid for it. The rich man offers to buy a new sandwich for me so he goes to the restaurant and buys two sandwiches. One sandwich has fancier meats and cheeses on it and other sandwich is like the one I had before. The rich gives the fancy sandwich to the politician and he eats it then he gives the regular sandwich also to the politician and he tosses it on the ground, steps on it a few times, rolls it in the dirt & mud, and gives it back to me. The two walk away laughing. It's a situation that's supposed to teach me something and make me stronger, they say. Teach me what exactly? All it did was make me realize how much I hate them for ruining my lunch.

It's nuts when I think that only a few hours away on a plane literally is the end of the world

Random thought conspiracy:

The possibility that the end goal is that all high end computer machines will be mainly accessible as a virtual cloud machines run through high end servers.
Only the richer ones will ever get the real ones if ever. Or, own a server that will do the heavy lifting that has a cloud device in it that's only for yourself and no one else.

Everything else is a subscription through a normalized substandard lower end device that's also a subscription that technically no one owns but the whatever company is running said servers.

So to do any heavier digital work at all, one would had to pay a subscription to access to a more powerful device instead of apps or softwares that could be dependently accessible online on a subscription model.

First hiking the prices of all hardwares as future proofing gets increasingly expensive, everything had to be online, etc...
Then advertise it as some form of eco-friendly alternative to reduce e-waste and a cheaper alternative when buying a new device isn't feasible anymore.


Gaming and streaming shows/movies/music -- just entertainment in general, is one thing.

Everything else -- docs, audio, video, digital editing tools, technical works, along with communication and business, and other personal stuff, etc. is another.

Yes, I'm aware; social media exists, cloud storage exists.
And that the average user doesn't need something huge of a spec to get by everyday.

But I don't want to deprive the not-so average users of the technical expression and accessibility to create and learn digitally.

Frankly, it's just how utterly amazing how certain people can still be so stubborn about vaccines can do more "harm" than good.
