I'm not back but I read here now and then. I made a private womens only subforum on my forum, if y'all are interested. It's exactly how you asked for it, you are added to a member group by staff and only staff and the members can see this subforum. There aren't very many people there and it hasn't been very active, but if all the ladies who are wanting a private women only forum join, then at least that part of it will be.

I found my login info and created the subforum just now, just for y'all cause you been wanting it so long. It's there and it's all yours. The link to my forum is in my signature. And if you are hesitant to come use it because of a problem with me, I'll gladly make one or two of yalls group the mods of that particular subforum and just be hands off. So its win win really. If you want to do this let me know and I'll start checking for new members there and adding you to the group for it.

Great idea, OOM! I'm sure that those who are looking for an Autism-oriented, women-only forum that excludes men will appreciate your efforts on their behalf!

Thank you and welcome back for ever long. I will strongly bear it in mind. If anything this would ease alot of suffering on forums in the long run, and it looks good too. Its a determined start.
The option to depart also seems promising. If you can edit easily then its a fine time to think about this.
No one will be able to shut you down now! :D

Yes, OliveOilMom is someone who is no nonsense, not politically correct, which is refreshing. Not sure why she left but I enjoyed her posts over the years.

I wonder if she is going to go on this women only forum herself.

No, no... we don't want you to be hands-off. We want you to be as hands-on as you can. That was the whole point - to get you going in a private forum :D :D :D

And Empathy, no one - NO ONE - shuts OOM down. She's like a rubber ball.. you sit on her hard in an attempt to squash her, and she bounces back to twice her previous size. She's got spirit, this woman. Right, OOM ?

OOM has a stainless-steel spine, figuratively speaking.

Yes, OOM is an interesting and outspoken character (I like), but I wouldn't call her no-nonsense. She is unreliable and only talks to you when she wants to. I wouldn't say she has a great spine either, she gets offended, if not more so, like everyone else. I'm not saying I especially have a spine.

I think part of me is trying to quash the fake positivity on this forum. There is too much of it lately, to the point it holds everyone back when learning anything i.e. the "Awww, it's not you, it's those rude NTs!".

As for the Womens Only forum, all that was asked for in the end was to be able to put "Women only" in thread titles and people went up in arms and really overreacted.

0_equals_true went up in arms and ruined that thread dianthus had made just to get his point across and ended up attacking people like me and others.

A lot of people only talk to you when they feel like it. It's not just online, but also in real life. My suggestion ? Don't bother communicating with them if they only deign to engage with you on their terms. Works like a charm every single time (at least for me), because you will eventually stop wanting to do anything with such people. It is too much work and very insulting to communicate with folks who won't make the effort, who think they are somehow above the laws of "friendships", and who believe that they don't have to engage in any give-and-take. It's not your job to make them understand that you will make the effort sometimes and that they should make the effort at others. Move on, and find someone else to be "friends" with. The world is a big place and you don't need to waste your time or energy on those unwilling or unable to communicate with you or who disrespect you by disregarding / ignoring your attempts at engagement.

As for this individual named here, I ignore his posts, and report them. Then it's up the Gods here aka the mods to take action or ignore my reports. He has been posting in threads in the Women's forum, not all of which have been productive, including some intended to create trouble, in direct violation of the sub-forum rules. Such people stop when you don't respond to their posts, as what they are seeking is *attention*, plain and simple. The more attention you give their ramblings, the more such posts that you can expect to see. Cut off that attention supply, and they should go away on their own. At the very least, their posts will stop bothering you.

HisMom you are absolutely right, on both counts. I'm going to take your advice.

Wrong. I asked for a diversion of that discussion to be split.

Also it would be interesting to see where in the discussion I "attacked" you, if the post have been left intact. Oh wait it didn't happen. Or would you swear under oath?

I critisised a satirical post about men's self control, which was not clear it was satirical at the time, it was different from the OP discussion. Simply to point out hypocrisy, and the fact that these threads could be used to make indefeasible argument that can't be challenged. After discussing it with a mod, I have not posted in that thread since. I never once said anything bad about that OP, or discounted her experiences.

That is your opinion. Yet your reports haven't resulted in much.

You mocked a user on a thread, I called you out for it. You reported me. Nothing came of it, this might be a clue.

Just becuase you are a women doesn't mean you are free to mock other women without criticism, and attempt to hide behind the rules.

I consulted the Op, nobody seem to think I had said anything wrong in that thread.

See, smudge, this is EXACTLY what I referred to. Now this individual wants to set himself up as the defender of the tribe, and stand up on behalf of women that I allegedly mock,

He even attempts to tell me what the rules of the Women's forum are.

Catch the point I was trying to make you earlier ?

Well your attempt to report me was unsuccessful. So if I was violating the rules I'm sure they would have done soemthign about it.

You mocked League_Girl, I criticised you for it. You reported me. Nothing happened.

Note I didn't report you becuase although mocking in tone, I felt criticism was enough to address it. Clearly you were unable to retort.

Like I say I consulted the OP as if she felt I was breaking any rules.

Apparently, English is someone's second language. 'Ignore and report" is now synonymous with "unable to retort".
