Mooncup. It also keeps the pH in the area as it should be, and that is important for those who are trying to conceive. Or just who don't wanna have funky infections there.

Both, tampons only in the beginning though, when it's heavy... then I just switch to pads.

I always use towels, never tampons. I have always believed that shoving sometihing like that up the vagina is unnatural. Mother Nature would have given us a plug for the time of the month otherwise. Plus I knew someone who died from Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) which is normally brought on by the use of tampons.

I share this way of thinking.

The poll results are very interesting. Apparently, the majority of women use tampons instead of pads, but it seems to be the opposite for women with AS.

Someone should do a study on this. Is it related to sensory differences? Or resistance to advertising, marketing, cultural indoctrination, societal pressure, etc.? Or both? Or something else?

My partner got my mooncup out of my bag the other day (in it's little bag, all clean and sterilised, don't worry!) and showed all our friends because he finds it so funny! Grrr! I was so embarassed, but then of course I had to explain it and justify why you use them to all these boys who were all 'ewwwwww' and some girls who were equally 'ewwww'... and then being miss aspie you just kinda keep going on and on and give too much info... ugh.

How awful. :(

Gave him a good telling off when we got home!!

I use Stayfree Ultra Thin Overnight Pads With Wings. They're really good, even during my heaviest periods. I can't wear tampons though, as I have a rare gynecological condition that makes it impossible. But even if I could, I don't have the dexterity to be able to use them anyway. So pads for me.

I also use those Thermacare menstrual heating pads that you stick on the inside of your underwear. They're air activated, you put them on the inside of your underwear against your skin and they provide heat for about 8 hours each. Works like a charm for cramps.

When I was younger I wore pads, but I prefer tampons because there isn't as much fuss involved and I can wear whatever clothes I like and not be paranoid. On a night I will wear a panty liner or a small pad just incase there is any overflow (ugh!)
I would like to try a mooncup.

I like pads a lot better than tampons so I wear them.

There needs to be another option on the poll, if only "other". I use the Keeper most of the time and consider it the single best decision I've ever made in my entire life. It's that great. I also sometimes use cute washable terrycloth pads-- so much more comfortable than whatever they make disposables out of. They don't leak like you might think they would, and they breathe a little better so your skin doesn't feel as irritated. I got mine from a local company, much cheaper than the ones you can buy on the internet. You can also make your own.

Both options are way cheaper (in the long run, since you only buy once), more comfortable (can't even feel the keeper in after the first couple tries), more convenient (don't need to remember to pick anything up at the store), and better for the environment. I used to hate my period with a passion, but didn't mind it once I started using the Keeper.

wait, what exactly is "the keeper" ?

I use a menstrual cup (Diva Cup, specifically.) and cloth pads if it's really light. I'll never do tampons again, they can be very painful to remove. I also like it cause I save money and saving money is good. haha

I've tried tampons on and off over the years and I just find them way too uncomfy. My muscles must be kinda weak because I just can't hold them in and it ends up slipping out, just oww and eww all at once. I totally swear by Kotex Overnites, won't use anything else. I have bad periods, very heavy and they last a while; I gotta have a pad that can take what I dish out, so to speak. :) I hate little pads, and I despise anything with wings.

exactly the same! and I recomend it to EVERY woman, cos it's ecologic, easier to wear(u dont feel them at all), non toxic like tampons and pads, and I could go on lol
