I will never have a family of my own. I will never get to be a parent. I am unlikely to ever be in a position that I

am allowed a pet. I will never be able to chose paint or wallpaper for my home or do what I want with the garden

or not have someone else coming around and inspecting my home and everything in it every six months. I will

always have to spend half my time working as a pretend (acceptable) person and the other half recovering. I will

never get any understanding or guidance with my autism because I look fine, so fine NO ONE has bothered to

read my assessment.

Parenthood is not a physical thing, it is a spiritual thing.

You will ALWAYS have the ability to mentor the young whom are fatherless or motherless. This will never be taken away from you. Lord knows there are endless hordes of children who never knew what it's like to have a mother, owing to their own parent's neglect, who would love to have you act as mothers to them.

Parenthood is not about blood, it's a spiritual thing, NOT physical.

If Parenthood was physical then this world would be a paradise, but this world is NOT a paradise, thereby proving that parenthood is NOT physical. Birthing a baby does not make one a parent, RAISING a baby makes one a parent, for this, you do NOT need to have physical children because ones own children were NEVER physical to begin with. We all know at least one or two people who have parents but don't have parents, and this person might even be you yourself, which further proves my point, parenthood is not physical, and because it's not physical you don't need to use the word "never".

It was realising that I am very unlikely to be in a position that would make me acceptable to adopt that got me

down. They don't just hand them out to anyone that turns up. The adoption process which I have been trying to

research so that I can get myself into the right position is based on NOT telling potential adopters about the

process until they apply. I would need to guess, I am not good at guessing what others want.

Thanks everyone for your own tails of woe, it did help not to feel so alone.

Overall I'm feeling a bit better. The neurologist I had been waiting 10 months to see says he thinks the numbness

I'm experiencing over half my body is unlikely to be MS, which was my big fear. No suggestions as to what is

causing it.

Since I felt like crap anyway I thought I'd make some changes so I ordered a freezer (after 10 years of

procrastinating) and have gone OMAD (one meal a day) and put in for a big change at work.

Overall health feels better on OMAD except numbness worse so will be keeping close eye on it. The work thing

depends on someone else leaving so I don't have an answer yet but the freezer looks lovely.

I suspect that isn't much comfort, but it is factual.

It is of no comfort at all. It is also NOT factual.

There are people who have it worse than me (some of them are on this thread) but they do not make up most

people in the world. I suspect you have a very distorted idea of what most people's lives in the world are actually like.

I'm speaking globally, as I said.
1,000,000 in the Chinese concentration/re-education camps, as an example.
The Tibetan persecution by the Chinese government.
The Syrian crisis is ongoing.
Venezuela, another one.
African warlords running amok.
Afghanistan warlords running amok.
Human slave trade.
Indian poverty causing millions not even having electricity.
Bangladeshi ethnic genocide.
Aboriginal social issues.
Massive amounts of homeless people throughout the world.

This is not an attack on you.

Dealing with a stubborn depression and the side-effects of the meds for that, but on the whole not really crap enough to complain about without feeling whiny.

-Live in a wealthy country that hasn't seen war in centuries.
-healthy and quite able-bodied, and sound of mind aside from some comparably minor issues.
-gainfully employed to a sustainable degree, small degree of disbility money for a passable income.
-I own my own home, a spacious flat within biking distance of multiple grocery stores and an enormous mall.
-Excellent access to self-improvement: several gyms nearby, library, study circles, hobby stores etc. And that's before mentioning the internet.
-Recently lost a loved one to cancer, but overall I have a large and loving family

So even living with autism, I don't feel I have that much that I can complain about.

So basically you feel the problem here is I am a winy ignorant person who knows nothing about anyone else's problems or the world and has no right to feel sorry for themselves EVER because I don't have REAL problems like other people.

No the problem is your maths is crap, that is NOT most people in the world.

And one must consider those with chronic ailments,
Those who have terminal illnesses.
Those with mental illness.
1 in 5 people will experience a mental disorder in their lifetime at some stage.

No one has a monopoly on suffering in this godforsaken life system we were forced into.
Most of us are in deep doo-doo through no fault of our own.
Life's a biatch and then you die. <shrug>

You are wrong about my attitude towards you.
I don't see you as whiny.
That is your interpretation of my intention/mindset.
I'm simply pointing out that a personal attitude is something to be considered.

Embracing anger is cathartic in some situations.
Feel free to hate me if it makes you feel better.
And I acknowledge there is nothing I can do to change your mind about me.
Such is life. <shrug>

The sign said: "Smile, things could be worse."
So I smiled,
And sure enough,
Things got worse.

I do not hate you. I do not hate anyone.

You did however upset me twice at points when I felt particularly low. Your own wording suggests that you knew your comment that most people in the world are worse off than me would not be welcome to me so I question your motive in posting it when I am clearly upset and this is the Haven.

You are also still insisting that it is true, IT IS NOT TRUE. You think you can judge whether it is or isn't, YOU CAN'T.

Since I have nowhere else to talk about my problems I came here. Those who did not think they were very large were at liberty to ignore them. To say that most people in the world are worse off than me was to dismiss my problems as not much.

You keep coming up with lists of people suffering which is insulting. I do not disagree with you due to ignorance and am not in need of an education of the worlds misery. I disagree with you because MOST people in the world are not worse off than me. Do you understand that most people means more than half?

I wanted to open up about my problems, you've made that impossible.
