The Greatest Wealth Transfer in History Is Robbing Young Ppl
I haven’t taken anything from people in subsequent generations.
Indeed, I've no idea which particular boomers that silly blogger was talking about, having never seen one in that category. In the UK, it seems we're about to become the main victims of the imminent massive rise in the cost of living:

Try telling those people they're successful thieves.

I think the charge is less that we sucked the life out of the planet and got to live exceptionally well because of it, than that we were in charge of managing the planet for the benefit of ourselves and future generations but were clueless idiots while doing so, ultimately leaving everything worse than we found it. That becomes more difficult to answer, doesn't it?
I mean, unlike my parents, my generation IS going to leave things worse than we found them, but what I can't pinpoint is exactly where we collectively went wrong ... or why. Or if we ever had an opportunity - or the ability - to change the trajectory. It feels like we're blamed more because we were supposed to be driving the bus, than because we picked the route.
What younger generations may not all realize is that us boomers are, in fact, less well off than our parents were, albeit better off than our kids expect to be. But ... we were the ones who were supposed to be driving the bus.

Are you suggesting that Hunter Biden is STILL involved with the Ukraine? I'm not finding any evidence that he still is. Am I missing something? I think our national interests in keeping Russian away from the Ukraine remain and are entirely separate at this point.
So there is a difference, now that his father is in control of our Country ...And now just happened to come out in support of Ukraine . cannot help but get the feeling of somekind of Nepotism is in the air. And the age old idea of Russian aggression bring used as the ' Why' we suddenly come out against Russia now . Instead of immediately when Russia first started invading . Why the delay .
Until now , and after Russia has taken over a huge part of that country. What has changed .? Or
better yet , who who is behind the situation.

There is no "why" to be asked. We have FOR DECADES supported Ukrainian independence, and that support has been BI-PARTISAN. It was Trump who tried to change the narrative on Russia, no one else.

The title of the thread and the blog it quotes claim that wealth is being transferred to us. My impression is that it's business leaders who have been wrecking the planet since the Industrial Revolution, and that the hippie / alternativist upsurge that my generation created was a major early exponent of looking after the planet, at a time when everybody else was laughing at them for being cranks. As for the bus, the elite have been hogging the driving seat since the dawn of time. The other social movement my generation promoted pretty strongly was socialism - an attempt to get the elite off the driving seat - but unfortunately the toffs proved too stubborn and a lot of the progress they made was gradually rolled back. Still, at least they tried, while these days the majority of Britons vote Tory.
Also in the UK, resentment towards the boomers has been noticed. The government recently floated an initiative to tax boomers more and to give the money to young people "to address the envy the young have towards the old." We committed the sin of retiring at 65 and enjoying defined-benefits pensions where we actually knew what we were going to receive.
I judge individuals by individual circumstances.
I don’t judge people based upon “generational characteristics.”
I’m not responsible for what the “Boomers” have supposedly “done” which have harmed the “Millennials.”
The flak that I receive from trolls who don’t know me just bounces off me. The flak is based solely on the desire to be an Internet troll.

News article: Sure, for boomers that didn't buy a home ever, basically. All those that did are sitting pretty. This phenomenon is projected to span generations - as now the single biggest factor in determining the lifetime wealth/income of a Millennial is whether or not your parents own real estate and you're going to inherit that wealth or not.
Bolded text: Umm, not on average, no. My grandparents generation - the Great Generation I believe they were known as - lived through the Great Depression and typically did Not accumulate vast amounts of wealth, whereas my parents' generation (Boomers) have larger more elaborate homes, nicer cars, bigger investment accounts, bigger pension funds, world travel jet setting vacations & just generally more money and material wealth than their parents and their children by Far. Not sure where you're getting any figures that suggest otherwise. ??

The billionaire class , they have all the advantages of our society and our country has to offer . They should be Bering the the burden of all social programs. IMHO. Perhaps not individual unemployment insurance. But things like road maintenance. Etc. but literally all taxes . All taxes for education , work training programs that are sponsored by the State to train new workers . Various assistance programs .

Billionaires paying taxes will still be billionaires. But because they are so incomprehensibly greedy, they adamantly refuse to pay at all. Instead, they threaten to pull out the businesses they run and outsource them to other countries, rather than doing their civic duty.

I think the problem may be that what is considered “boomer” covers quite a large time span.
I also think that exactly when the bubble hit its peak varies a bit by country; Europe’s time line seems to have been a bit after the USA’s, for example, based on what I know from relatives there.
In my age group, tail end of what is considered boomer, what I wrote is true. Not universally true, because nothing is, but I think I’m a solid example in having a better education than my father, a better career, yet far less wealth accumulation than he had. Our social security is worth less, pensions far less likely to exist, and so on. But we also carry some blame in not having known we needed to pinch pennies to get where we wanted; the promise seemed to be that wealth would inevitably keep rising, and we foolishly bought in.
