The Kyiv-Classic Symphony Orchestra gave an impromptu concert in Independence Square, Central Kyiv.

"Dozens" of people braved freezing temperatures to see and hear the concert.

Even the Russian-speaking Ukrainians have spirit, though.

They are protesting even in Russian-occupied cities.

Zelensky himself is a native Russian speaker, according to an article I read, he learned Ukrainian only in 2017 or so.

Apparently, unwilling to live under Kremlin rule unites Ukrainians more than language divides them.

Hate for Putin's Russia Consumes Ukraine

There is only one Russia. Ukranians now hate it more than ever. It's not possible to walk away from that hate. It will forever be an open wound, a grievance between the two people if the conflict isn't conclusively resolved. There will have to be a clear victor in the confrontation of force. There will be a side who has been clearly bested, and they will have to accept it as fact. Recovery may begin once the facts of the conclusion are accepted. For this reason the war shouldn't stop.

I've seen the bitterness of the Falklands War, it will only be worse in Ukraine if they aren't given a chance to fight to the extent of their ability.

Have you seen the sister link?

It isn't a real link. ;)

if somebody screwed you over 16 ways past sunday, how could you be expected to not hate them?

Hate all you like, but don't lose track of reality.
You were calling for all republicans to be put in a camp, about a year and a half or so ago.
This was not the mark of a rational man.

Bucha mayor: Russians 'will never be forgiven, on this earth or in heaven,' for Ukraine atrocities

Quote:
we will never forgive the Russian people — not personally, not individually, but on the whole — we will not forgive the Russian people

This is the point that I was making. The war can't end. It has to be fought to the bitter end until one side can't fight no more and accept it's defeat as a historic fact. Then the recovery can begin.

The only way I can imagine to forgive something like this would be:
1. acknowledging the harm;
2. then true remorse;
3. followed by substantial effort to repair what is possible and systematically prevent similar things in the future;
4. and then decades of proof that one has really changed.
Without these, forgiving it would be only encouraging more abuse.

I don’t see Ukraine pushing into Russian territory if Russia retreats.
