In order to run for president you have a be a natural born US citizen or have a parent with natural born US citizenship. (If your born in another nation but one of your parents is native born American you count as a natural born)

It's complicated.

Maybe but our current administration has made a hobby out of rewriting such laws.

Arnie is married to one of the Kennedy chicks, so he might still be in the running...

Imagine if he lost the campaign, his slogan for the next one would be, obviously....

I'LL BE BACK!!

we've already had 8 years with a nazi sympathizer's grandson (bush jr), we don't need 4 or more years of a proper nazi.

We aren't going to know til next year, but I reckon she will be scuttled, and Condy is out of the running anyway. The PC trend isn't that great that it can break 200-odd years of an old boy's network that it hasn't broken yet; and don't forget all the bible-bashers in the evangelical lobby who'll make sure Hilary is kept in the wilderness, with their mostly misogynistic views. If it was able to be broken (the old boy's network), Nancy Reagan would have been running the country between 80 and 88 officially, instead of needing Ronnie to be the puppet that he was.

Actually, I just worked out who'll be the next President, and this is scary.... President Bush. Yes, Jeb Bush, because the republicans will put him up in a late bid for next year. Too late you might say, but stranger things have happened. And put it this way, it still means there will be a Bush in the Whitehouse for possibly another 8 years.

I was astounded when W. received the nomination. It seemed much too reminiscent of monarchy to me. I think I'd been rooting for Alan Keyes.

men who make C's are some of the strongest elite. It's the 'frat boy' mentality

he wasn't 'saddled' he actively sought the nomination and the election and then ran for election again. . .that is not being 'saddled' with the toughest job on earth.

I agree. He is a man with principles who stands by them, and isn't blown by every wind from the polls. And I think he's doing his best to do a really tough job. But he's abysmal at expressing himself (Aspie?). And his position on open borders sucks.

not Aspie. More like a 'white knuckle' drunk.

This one is even worse; if the Liberals get up here, and Peter Costello takes over, then he'll make Tony Abbott the treasurer. Then Australia will be an even bigger joke than America, having Abbott & Costello as its leaders.....

Go Rudd, put an end to THAT possibility once and for all.

Bush is probably one of the worst presidents the U.S ever had. He couldn't govern his way out of a wet paper bag with a footlong machete. In his first 4 years, he managed to turn our biggest surplus in history....into the biggest defecit in history. That's a pretty amazing feat right there. He's also added billions, if not trillions by now, to our debt through a pointless war. He lied about the reasons for going to war, and initiated attack before the UN was done inspecting for these "Weapons of Mass Destruction" that don't exist. Poverty's gone up. Jobs are being outsourced to India, and nothing's being done about it. He's always way too buddy-buddy with bigshot fatcat oil CEOs who continue to exploit us for profit.

Ah Alan Keyes... that's someone I'd be proud to vote for... I always begrudgingly vote republican... lesser of two-evils and such. But I am starting to become terribly apathetic... I hate almost every politician I see and read about.

As to the topic... those who bash bush are just as crazy and sensationalist as those who support him 100% without question.

bush is worthless.

and if you want evidence of it, watch how russia will evolve in the new few years and take over. we'll lose our economy and we'll lose the cold war.

putin's already started reactivating the military for cold war operations. putin is seeking to gain positive press with those stupid shirtless photos of him within russia. he's looking to gather support to be forced to retain power when he's about to give it up.

and america will be the big devil that he has to fight.
