Jabba's palace court. I wonder which one is the laughing monkey.

I'm sorry so many in your country chose poorly

An evangelical Christian lady who grew up here in SA and whose father was the Baptist preacher on the small town I grew up in in the late 60s and early 70s, had been warning her fellow Christians and her friend in general against Trump (she calls him a rhyming name) and Musk. She said those who voted that ticket ought to be ashamed of themselves.

I'm glad to see that many of them chose to reject Trumpy even if they only voted Harris to try and keep him out. She is a moderate independent

USA stay tuned, soon free speech will not be anymore... ? .. And if you consider, in the old days in Russia every neighnour was a spy on their fellow neighbour..but now we have Gov. sponsored media and Apple or google devises in every home.
With an easy backdoor built in to their Updates. ( Possibly) That has included your microphone being turned on , I think, without the owner being aware of it ....And the gov. has made it so easy to get sponsored cell phones in many States , Now.,For people below a certain income level .

I blame Trump and everyone who voted for him.

There are allegations that Trump was recruited by the Russians in 1987 and given the codename "Krasnov".

From https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/us-news/donald-trump-recruited-kgb-codename-34726995:

Quote:
The bombshell allegation was made by Alnur Mussayev, a former Kazakh intelligence chief, in a Facebook post. The 71-year-old, who previously headed Kazakhstan’s National Security Committee, said he had served in the 6th Directorate of the KGB in Moscow, which was responsible for counter-intelligence support within the economy.

One of the directorate’s primary objectives, he claimed, was “recruiting businessmen from capitalist countries.” According to Mussayev, Trump, then a 40-year-old New York real estate developer, was one of those recruits. "In 1987, our directorate recruited Donald Trump under the pseudonym Krasnov,” he wrote.

Mussayev’s post did not include evidence to support his claim, but in a further comment he made another shocking allegation. “Today, the personal file of resident ‘Krasnov’ has been removed from the FSB. It is being privately managed by one of Putin’s close associates,” he alleged. His allegations come amid years of speculation over Trump’s ties to Russia, dating back to his first visit to Moscow in 1987.

...

However, some US officials have repeatedly raised concerns about his close relationship with the Kremlin leader, particularly during his first term in office. Anthony Scaramucci, who briefly served as Trump’s White House communications director in 2017, added to the intrigue during a recent episode of The Rest Is Politics: US podcast.

He suggested that Trump’s deference to Putin has puzzled many of his former senior officials. “I think there is a mysterious ‘hold’ on the president,” he said. Scaramucci did not elaborate on what that ‘hold’ might be but suggested that several former Trump administration officials, including H.R. McMaster, James Mattis, and John Kelly— had also struggled to understand Trump’s affinity for Putin. “I don’t know why it’s like this,” he said. “McMaster couldn’t figure it out, Mattis couldn’t figure it out, Kelly couldn’t figure it out.”

Trump's first two months and the hot start have been the most fantastic thing I have ever seen in American politics, breaking up 50 years or so of otherwise-doledrums.

The real question though is how many of these feminist ladies actually presented themselves in anger with shaved heads at Christmas and Thanksgiving in signs of protest, to their MAGA families. Trump certainly already held to this promise, to have more than one turkey at the table.

I wish I could pull off a shaved head. I just don’t have the right face shape for it.

When I give myself a haircut, I cut it just as short as I can short of shaving my head.

What I need to do is give myself at least one haircut a week.

I keep my hair long so I can put it in a ponytail but buzzed would be even easier. I don’t think I would mind cold ears because I rarely leave the house without headphones.

Noise canceling headphones are a lifesaver for folks with sensory sensitivities at women’s marches, anti-Trump rallies, war protests, Westboro Baptist Church protests, etc.

Mine is about halfway down my back. I should trim the ends one of these days.

I'm sure glad the Republicans didn't run with a wealthy candidate this time. I'm even happier the head of the Goverment Department of Efficiency isn't wealthy or elite.

There's an argument to be made that a "poor person" or person of modest means that gets put up would be totally controlled by much more powerful handlers, and people would quickly see through this kind of thing as just being a mascot of sorts that was in completely out of his depth and being utterly controlled.

By contrast, a president like FDR was completely financially independent and also considered at his time "a traitor to his class," for what he was doing. Not that it always happens that an Independently Wealthy president is going to behave like this, but I'd take the chances better on this than some controlled poor sap that get used like this in a narrative like this to run a "poor person" for this kind of image.

It happened several times as I recall back in the Middle Ages and early Renaissance that from time to time the Cardinals would elect to the Papacy a hermit or someone like this who was completely outside the system, and even might have been respected as an honourable and principled figure that was living their righteous values in a cave... but once they got elected it was fully clear they were just a tool and shield for the real and more powerful interests and families that just wanted to hide behind this and keep doing business-as-usual.

Yeah, what a strange position to take. I mean, not denying the fact that the Democratic party faces major issues of being controlled by money and stuff, but... to say that they are the party of that is beyond absurd. Both parties are controlled by big money, but there is at least a little bit of helping the working class/the people that slips by in Democratic policy, whereas Republicans cater exclusively to the rich with their policies.

We have a big issue here, but... the Republican party is a whole 'nother issue (now you'll have more economic troubles AND a big government telling you how to live your life based off of your sex, tell you who you can be with, tell you what religion you have to follow, etc.) and I wish our stupid country's populace didn't have to find that out but here we are.
