Canadians have no interest in joining with the U.S. in any kind of confederacy, and I can't say I blame them. Whenever the U.S. has entered into relationships with other nations, its leaders have always insisted on remaining on top.

I don't think that such will happen. It goes against the American ideology of independence. Really, I think that an international depression is a more likely worst case scenario; I don't see a purely US collapse happening in such a case though because of our ties to the international economy and because of the perception of the US collapsing affecting other nations.

Nominalist is correct; there wouldnt be much interest.

In the interests of discussion, however, What would America have to offer Canada and Mexico?

Well, service staff should be paid proper wages and not starvation wages that are hardly any more than the unemployment benefit.

The USA seems to have jobs to offer Mexicans. And, in return, if Mexico joins the USA, then Mexico can help pay off the federal debt.

As for Canada -- well, we have Disneyland. Lots of Canadians like to go on vacation in Disneyland.

With . . . what? Their huge national surplus, or economic reserves?

With the jobs being sent their way. They can pay taxes on the income, and help pay off the US debt.

Big business will profit and further their goal of enslaving the people. Do not trust globalization.

And why are the Mexicans willing to pay a higher income tax rate in order to help pay of the US debt? Current tax rate for singles in Mexico is 21.4%, as opposed to 29.4% in the US. http://uk.mercer.com/pressrelease/detai ... QKMZ0QUJLW

canade has oil= strong dollar for them

we have massive trade imblance thanks to comrade clintoon, dollar was bound to fall

teachers union should be outlawed

medical is too much paperwork

If auto insurance worked the same way an oil change would cost $100. It's insane to have insurance cover minor stuff.

Because so many Mexicans are coming to the USA every day to find work.

If Mexico joined the USA, then wages might increase for many workers in Mexico.

If the increase in wages outpaces the increase in taxes, then they might come out ahead.

But, I suspect that the US federal government just likes to rack up debt, and it may not actually solve anything.

Perhaps the best thing would be for the USA to become a Chinese colony. We are pretty much headed that way anyway.

If Mexico and USA and Canada join together, we will be property of the UN, big business will boom, however the people will live in filth, poverty, and slavery. Is that what you want?

The UN ought to be disbanded - in its present form, it is a complete waste of time.

Disbanded, perhaps, but replaced by something with more teeth.

Agreed, But is that possible, and how? What means of applicable force could a successor be given?
