As someone who lived through the drought in the Middle West when the "Okies" were persecuted when they tried to flee to California, when the American citizens of Japanese extraction were confined to concentration camps during the Second World War, when Roosevelt refused a shipload of Jews from landing to flee the Nazis, when American Jews were excluded from universities and many exclusive clubs and many higher paying jobs, when Native Americans were (and still are) denied their rightful earnings from the use of their land, when labor unions are prevented from legally organizing to protect workers from dangerous conditions and low wages, when I had a cross burned on my lawn for participating in protests about my fellow black citizens treatment, when women today are not paid equal pay for equal work, nobody has to talk to me about how sweet Americans are.

Sand, are you an American or are you Finnish? I'm curious because from your posts and your location it's hard to tell which is true. :?

I was born in New York City and lived there from 1926 to 1962. I have lived in various places in Europe and ended up in Finland in 1967.

A large percentage of humans are gullible. Too many people believe what politicians say, and what the media tells them, unless they have been exposed as lying in the first place. No doubt most sheep who watch FOX news belong to the dumb, gullible, and ignorant club. I don't know if gullibility decreases with increasing intelligence, but I hope so.
Culture can be to blame as well. Too many people are indoctrinated to believe that fat people are unhealthy, and that the majority of muslims are "terrorists".... a vague and broad term that. And some can't even pinpoint other countries on a world map.

Also, did you know that the word 'gullible' has been removed from the Oxford dictionary?

The Oxford Dictionary on line clearly defines "gullible". Was that a test of gullibility?

There are many countries that deserve all sorts of treatments that never happen.
