Dear Adults who should have been better at Adulting:

I know you did the best you could at the time but your indifference and disinterest in me has left me lonely and having difficulty attaching to others as an adult. I find myself always doing for others and there is rarely reciprocation, even when I ask for help (which about kills me). Ya'll had no business having children and being parents. What the heck were you thinking??? Now I am left a shell of a human struggling, even 40+ years later. I am disappointed.

To a version of me that could've been yet it didn't:

You could've saved my family.
And have the life I would've decided to have.

But fate decided...
That I couldn't be you.

I was robbed.
Did not matter why or how.

Alright...I get it.
I was supposed to grow up with you.
I seem to have misinterpreted your desire not to have children as you refusing to grow up too.
Now that you've finished leaving behind everything we had in common, and you've mostly dismantled whatever we've built, I find myself with nowhere to go except retrace my path to areas you no longer inhabit.
I miss you...I miss us and worst of all, I miss me.
I hope I can find a path back to you, or failing that, a path of any variety.
