Regardless, he has $X to work with.
Subtract fixed costs of housing & utilities.
And then he has $Y for a grocery budget for ? Just him? Him and his mother? Him and his mother and his sister?

And with that $Y food budget he should do his best to optimize what food he can procure.

And if he would like or need, we can help him with that budgeting process and math.

I never said he shouldn’t create a budget.

Ok.

Sly: Do you have the math sorted out just fine or do you need some help with budgeting?

I know nothing is certain about this virus, but on the news at one point they stated that one thing you know from it is that you lose your sense of smell and taste even if you get no other symptoms.

Is that true?

To be fair, it was a girl being interviewed (who had had it) saying this so she might have been speaking only about herself, not broadly, and just not using the correct sort of phrasing to make it clear.

Apparently it's a very common symptom, but it won't happen to everyone.

I’m fortunate that didn’t happen to me.

There have been a few cases like that in Israel, neurological and cardiac damage as well as pulmonary. One young man stated that losing his sense of taste and smell was his first symptom.

Green tea tastes like green tea. Coffee smells of coffee. My younger daughter's feet are gross as always.
No, I don't have this symptom. Just a bad cough.

He means $16.50, I believe.

No $16-$50

How do they give you a $ range of food stamps? :?

It’s called a estimate as they don’t know what I’ll get in two months when covid increase ends. So it could be 16 or it could be 50 or it could be somewhere in between and if I go back to work I could qualify for food stamps but get $0

Doing the math based on $50, it's likely about $1.60 / day. He started April late through, so he possibly gets $16 for April ?

Just my guess.

I would have got $16 for April based off two out of 4 paychecks. But I didn’t apply until 13th so I get $0 for April until last day I’ll get the covid increase.

What’s weird is they said if I ,add under $1500 I’d qualify for food stamps still but seems I’d get no money so why have people qualify and fill out for, do interview for $0

Why is ssdi money counted as more then same amount of ssi money.

It seems people on disability don't get anything. I don't get anything for a stimulus even though I worked and paid taxes for many, many years before my trauma / stroke. I think once people collect disability they're pushed aside.

Guess:

Are people on SSI allowed to earn more money by working part time than people on SSDI w/o having $ clawed back? If yes, that’s your answer. They have an expectation that because you’re allowed to earn money that you should.

Both are allowed to work. Neither can do substantial work.
Snaps is based off what you make not what you could make

Is it based off of what you make Now? Or last tax year? Or reassessed monthly? Like are they including your employment income on top of the $805?

SOME COOL NEWS.

The Netherlands have just published a study.
Those clever people tested blood donations. :)

Officially the Netherlands has 30,000 cases of which 3,500 have died (that looks bad at about 11% death rate)

But when they tested a random sample of 10,000 blood donations.

3% of them were positive for Corona Virus.
The population of the Netherlands is 17 Million people.
So 3% is about 500,000 which results in a death rate around 0.6%

This means their were roughly 18 undetected/asymptomatic infections, for every detected infection and the virus is much less deadly than it initially appeared to be.

Wonderful news. :)

Good news from Israel: Israeli Rafael company has developed a mechanism enabling the sharing of one respirator between two patients, administering different variables of oxygen to each patient as required.

An 88 year old woman has improved significantly after receiving plasma from a recovered Corona patient.

Bad news: this means that there are lots of people out there spreading the virus because they don't notice they have it.
