Sheer accident that one hairless ape became hyper-intelligent to the point they took over this planet like a virus?

You don’t seem to understand how evolution works.

I'm not so convinced we're as hyper-intelligent as we'd like to believe ourselves to be (among things).

We're much better at standing on the shoulders of those who came before us (so to speak) than most other animals. We don't need extraordinary explanations when ordinary ones are far more reasonable.

Our current society and it's achievements are built atop hundreds of previous generations of achievements. We've had a lot of time to get where we are, how and why are aliens needed to explain any of it?

We are ecosystem disruptors at best, and a pandemic at worst.

As of June 15th the family are sticking by their story despite death threats, police cameras and military investigations

This sounds like a movie plot, but if technologies of non-human origin have actually been discovered, it’s clear that a lot of things will change. On the other hand, according to this page, people who expose such information face major risks. For example, Grusch filed a complaint against the Department of Defense and claims he was ostracized for revealing these details

We are collectively sleep walking. Either
a. some people have advanced tech that uses a non-fuel based propulsion system that would eliminate global warming overnight but they are happy to let planet earth tumble to oblivion OR
b. we have aliens

Congressional hearings would suggest not.
