Oh, so it's there! I must have been rushing to find it because my friend was anxious to see it! I was about to search for TheMachine1's post in there because I remembered that he had replied to mine and the hacker probably couldn't have deleted HIS post!

Thanks Greenblue, by the way. :) And thanks, TM1, for finding it!

Aw, so the hacker wasn't jealous of username88. :(

I'm so paranoid lately!

EDIT: Oh yeah, I posted a double thread once and one of them was deleted, and I may have made a double post somewhere else too, so that partially solves the post count dilemma. :)

So you must know something about hacking and used to have access as a former moderator.

I just completed an MS.

And know just about nothing
about this BBS, nor hacking.

But, I did follow up on the cracking hint
that TM1 gave, and think that I could manage
it, if I had access now.

BTW - I like your avie.

Yes, let's continue to feed a vicious cycle.

People on both sides have misbehaved. Trying to label only one side as the wrong-doer is childish, and meaningless.

Ban this one, ban that one, what's the use? I think the best thing to do to a so-called enemy is love them... but I made the mistake of thinking the only love they understood was of the coarse variety. :)

That is irrelevant. What Ana does on zOMG is zOMG's issue. WP cannot police zOMG. If somebody falsely logs in as someone else that is WPs concern. So if it is the case according to the ToS it is a big violation regardless. .

well, your post he quoted looks like the first thing that came to your mind was the ZOMG site to blame, doesn't it? Looks like you were actually making an accusation, then you took it back when Alex asked, at least you had the descency to do that. What shadexiii said is perfectly relevant to it.

I took nothing back it was based on a credible theory as per TM1 suggestion. Alex can find that out for himself better than me. I also suggested that there is a software exploit, if it hasn't been patched. Also if this is just Ana fooling around they can look into that too, though her IPs have been static except for that post. If somebody has logged falsely from information they received in confidence or by deception that is reason for administrators to ban those members if they exist on WP. That statement is true and she could sue them if her confidentiality was breached. As far as anything it is not really relevant because WP can't do anything about what happens on another site.

You say that both sides have been fooling around so really I'm not going to take lessons from anyone. I could care less about that, is simply child’s play or script kiddies. It is up to them how they take it not my problem. Vicious cycle give me a break, self perpetuating more like.

In zOMG favour they use one way hashes for the password in phpBB and they are not truly recoverable. If they were to be the culprits they would need hash dictionary, it is less and less likely the more complex the password is that this would work. The only other slim possibility is the zOMG took the password on sign up. But both of these would be require their hosting company to give them publishing and db rights.

So to do this it would require someone with knowledge of hacking and exploits or prior knowledge of Ana passwords, or access to her computer or failing that administration rights.

I was referring to your wording. I'm not saying "do nothing," but the more strongly a line is drawn, the more sided things get. Nor have I defended the actions of anyone. That is not what I'm getting at.

This attitude of "Just don't do it here," or "Not here, not our problem" is pathetic. It all but encourages bad behavior.

It is only self-perpetuating thanks to the assistance of people like yourself.

Yes, that would be a good thing.

Lol that is pretty rich. It is their choice it they can't see the stupidity in it is their problem. Why should they care what I think? This is pathetic. WP can only deal with its members.

What has that go to do with anything? Don't put words in my mouth.

They don't, I guess I did, I'm in both places, and I happen to like both. You are a mod? I hope not. Although TM1 had the same good judgement as yours forming a 'theory' and if it really was a theory, neither of you explicitly said that, so readers would assume you were affirming things being so sure, in other words, you were not careful to come up with those things, considering being mods and an example and supposely following an ethical behaviour and so.

As a said they give a crap of what you think, and I do as well, but if you are a mod then that worries me. TM1 thinking on this worries me as well, as I used to think he was a great person with an objective thinking about things, I guess I was wrong.

I didn't, I asked if that was what you meant to suggest.

I also don't get whats with acting like the only solution is to clean up after a mess is made. Look, some of the mess is on this side of the tape, so the other person in the dorm room has to take care of it.

How about trying to prevent it before it happens, by, I don't know, not effectively encouraging and contributing to it?
