As ridiculous as some of Obama's gaffes are, though, Ragtime, you are clearly cherry-picking. If I thought that you were doing this for the sake of political humor, which is a time-honored American tradition, I would quite readily laugh with you. Unfortunately, you have a long history as a political bigot, and frankly I think that you are using these gaffes as support for your dumbass prejudices.

He's just expressing his conservative Islamophobic views. He has every right to do so. What would this world be without people like him? Boring, I'd say. Must we really create rivalries over something as silly as politics?

Petty rivalries are like the entire point of this part of the forum, so no, we can't. But it would be nice if we could at least keep it civil. Even if Ragtime can be a bit exasperating at times, at least in my opinion.

I just think he's incredibly ignorant and professionally/governmentally inexperienced

O rly? I know from the evolution threads that you find this concept difficult, but bring us proof. In the John McCain thread, I've brought plenty of proof of his flip-flopping. The only thing that wasn't just a brain-fart on your entire list for Obama is the Iran issue, and that is easily explained - Iran isn't a big threat to America itself, but to the soldiers on the ground in Iraq, and the other neighbouring countries.

Bring us proof of Obama's supposed flip-flopping, or stop making baseless assertions.

you know, the funny thing is i hate obama too but i could care less about his gaffes. the only reason why i care about bush's gaffes are not just because they're mistakes but also because of how he handles himself with the mistakes. it's obvious he's a spoiled brat who's never had to work a day in his life before becoming president and even in how he deals with reports just reeks of richboy arrogance and a lack of sense of responsibility to anyone but himself.

(Honestly, this debate is awesomely stupid and I must see it continue, but) Why does everyone leap at reinterpreting the sentence so it doesn't sound silly? Most people are s**t awful at geography. Thank you. Disliking Obama's policies for rational reasons is healthy and good for politics - I'm probably going to disagree with you, but at least I'll respect you. However, seeing him nitpicked on every one of his fatigue induced gaffs is very aggrivating.

But the responses you get from people when you aggravate them are very educational.
